Chi no ike (Blood Pond)
Something to do with minerals in the earth causes the steaming waters of this chigoku ('hell') to turn blood red. It would be pretty haunting if it wasn't for the huge gift store and herds of tourists groups that make the place such a spectacle. It was cool anyway.
