Matt Woodfuff meets John Glenn In Washington DC.As part of the Wisconsin Space Grant Trip.
Last week, I was priviledged enough to be able to travel to Washington DC for the National Space
Grant Directors Conference with the WSGC as their student representative, and it was an awesome
trip. The main reason I went was to represent all the good things the WSGC has been doing (mainly
the rocket competition in my case). It was an awesome experience, and I am very thankful I was able
to go.
I left on Wednesday morning from milwaukee, and got to Reagan around noon, got to my hotel, and
headed for the Air and Space Museum. Smile For anyone that hasn't gone, that is a must see. It is
simply amazing. The front hall is so filled with aviation history, its mind boggling. In the front
hall, they have - Space Ship 1, Glamorous Glennis, Spirit of St. Louis, the Apollo 11 capsule,
Voyager, John Glenn's Friendship 7, Goddard's first liquid propelled rocket, an X15, plus more!!
Its insanely cool!! The rest of the museum is amazing too, and it would have taken me probably a
week to go through it properly, but because of time constraints, i basically ran through it trying
to see it all.
