Flippy And The Hambones' History:

Once upon a time, two fine young men by the name of Wiggins and Scogin decided that starting a band would be a great thing to do.  At first they were discouraged, and were fearful that they would just plain suck. After seeing a few local bands, their confidence was boosted, as they were already just as good as most other bands.
So, armed with their two practice amps, and unnamed band consisting of a guitar and a bass, the Michael's rocked the band hall during Fabulous Friday, a summer marching band practice thing. They made a little over a dollar, and bought ice cream with it in celebration.
Realizing that they had potential, they started the long, hard search for a drummer.
A year passed, and finally they found Petty. This is when Flippy & the Hambones actually began. With the acquisition of a rustic (more like rusty) drumset kept in a barn for roughly 20 years, Petty, Wiggins, and Scogin were able to do their thing. The first show as Flippy & the Hambones was at Andrea Gibbs' B-Day Party. Then Larry joined the band, adding his amazing guitar skills to the mix. Flippy & the Hambones then played at Mole Day with another band called Trykshot. They played a few more shows, one of which was at Alex Avery's B-Day Party. This show was really neat because the "stage" was a very small balcony just big enough for the drums and amps. This is where the slogan "Rockin' a balcony near you" came from. Time went on, and Flippy remained stagnant for a while due to school and all of the crap that goes along with it. A big help was Jamie, who was the "roadie" for a while, simply carrying stuff for no reason at all besides wanting to help. They played at a few more B-Day Parties and stuff. Then, they began to get busy again, acquiring the chance to play at a West Brook dance. Unfortunately, that show was canceled. However, in preparation for that show, Flippy & the Hambones acquired two new members David and Kevin. Originally they were just asked to play horns on one song for one show, but since they rocked so much it was decided that Flippy & the Hambones would become the best ska band in Beaumont (due largely in part to the fact that there are NO others). Then Lackey joined the band to add what the Hambones lack... a good show. Zach became the official manager of Flippy & the Hambones and began getting them all SORTS of shows.
As for now, Flippy & the Hambones remains looking for venues to play at, creating their own shows, and practicing when they can. And, they even got off their butts and started writing songs again. (it's about time). Then they decided to do this webpage, because Lackey is awesome.
