Cobourg may become the main location of the JFC, as the Ajax Branch shifted west to Pickering - one key member less. Elliott, president and founding member of the JFC, threw in his towel and moved out to Toronto, with no spoken intentions to carry on the JFC.

When the JFC history is traced back, the earliest moments are from Elliott's "Kids Club" in 1990. He and Nigel founded the "Kids Club," while 3 years later Eric, current JFC President, founded "Cool Snack Thursday." In 1995, the two clubs merged and Nigel didn't want to be a part of it.

But there was promise for the resulting club, the "Junk Food Club," among the 20 new members was Jonathan. He had big plans for the JFC and helped them rise to bigger success. But being the eldest member of the JFC, he was split from the other members.

1998 was a big year for the JFC with 4 new members, but the high rise came down in January 1999 when Jonathan moved to Cobourg, announcing he would be carrying on his own branch of the JFC. Less and less people were talking about the JFC in Ajax, and things seemed to be coming apart.

Then in 2001 the JFC moved over from Ajax to Pickering and Eric took over as President when Elliott announced he wasn't moving to Pickering with them -- he was going to Toronto. Eric has been trying to keep the JFC alive, and it's fate is still unsure.

But things are looking up in Cobourg as Jonathan had said. More interest seems to be in Cobourg, and it could be a sign that the JFC is battered but not beaten. We'll keep you posted here of all the latest developments, so keep checking back.
