| Welcome to our little home on the web! The purpose of the South Dakota Junior Hereford Association is to contribute to the growth and influence of the Hereford Breed. The organization tries to stimulate an active interest in the production and the promotion of the Hereford breed to its members and to develop leadership and public service responsibility in its members.
At the present time there are over 200 members in the state organization, making this one of the largest Junior Organizations in South Dakota. The purpose of this web page is to keep our present members informed of current events, and also let other organizations be aware of what we are doing. At this time we would like to invite you to explore our links to other pages, and also mail us your comments!
Part of the commitment will be displayed at this year’s Junior National Hereford Expo that will be hosted at the Sioux Falls Lyons Fairgrounds, in Sioux Falls South Dakota. Many of these juniors will play a vital role in making this year’s event a success. The event will be hosted July 15th through the 20th where over a thousand of the nation's best Hereford cattle will be on display. Also many junior members will take place in contest ranging from Speech, Photography, Judging, Showmanship, and other social events.
However in order to make this a success we need your help in the form of contribution of time and finances. Part of their fund raising efforts is directed in the form of selling ads for the Program Book that will be used at the Jr. National Expo, a Raffle for a beautiful quilt displaying brands of different herds from the state also Rausch Herefords have donated a heifer that will be raffled as well. Please look throughout the web page for more information. Any contribution will be greatly appreciated by the Junior Members. Please help in the support of this worthy event that not only promotes future Hereford breeders, but the breed itself!
