The Warriors and Rams have met 49 previous times --- with Garces leading the series, 27-20-2.
After losing six straight games to Garces, the Warriors finally prevailed in 2017 with a dramatic 28-27 win in overtime.
Garces got back in the win column against the Warriors in both 2018 by a 35-7 count and 63-0 in 2019.

The Warriors first met Garces in 1946, winning 13-0. Then Garces was known as the St. Francis Shamrocks --- later officially becoming Garces
High School in 1947. Between 1946 and 1954, the two teams played each other 8 times, the Warriors winning 5 of these games and playing one game to a tie.

After a 27 year layoff --- the teams resumed their rivalry in 1982. Since 1982, the Rams lead the series 23-15-1. Either Garces or Tehachapi had a share
of the South Sequoia League (SSL) title after the Warriors joined the SSL in 1992 --- further fueling the rivalry between these two schools.
In 2004, Garces left the SSL and joined the tough Southeast Yosemite League which features greater Bakersfield area schools.
Beginning in 2012, the two schools are in the same league again as members of the Southeast Yosemite League. Garces has again left the SEYL for a much tougher league in Bakersfield.

The annual contest between the two schools is now celebrated as the "Ogilvie Bowl" as a tribute to retired coach Gary Ogilvie.
Ogilvie, a standout quarterback for Garces during his playing days, guided the Rams to their first ever Valley Championship in 1953.

Ogilvie would return to Garces after a stint in the Marines as the head coach from 1964-1969. During his six years at Garces,
his teams won several SSL championships.

Ogilvie then moved to Tehachapi where he was the head coach two different times, from 1971 to 1974, and from 1979 to 1981.
During that period, his Warriors teams went 68-12, capturing four DIL championships and one CIF sectional championship.

Garces, a private Catholic school, has a student population of just over 600 students (2012).
