Rasipuram is a town located near Salem, Tamilnadu. I love my hometown very much. It is surrounded by lakes in three sides. It was connected by bus very well from all over Tamilnadu. Lord Shiva Temple and Mariamman Temple are very beautiful places. Textile, Jewellery, Silk and Agriculture are the main sources of income in Rasipuram.

As like all Indian places Deepavali and Pongal are the main festivals. Except these Mariamman Festival and Adi Perukku are also some of important festivals. Mariamman Festival is my favourite festival because we will celebrate it for 21 days. Firewalk is the main event of that festival.

Surroundings

Salem, Namakkal, Thiruchenkode, Erode are the nearest towns. Salem city is famous for its Steel, Mangoes and Magnesite. Namakkal is the No 1 in India for its Truck Operators and Hatcheries. The total turmeric market of India is controlled by Erode.

Except these towns there are lot of beautiful villages are there. Some of my friends are belongs to that villages. So I used to go their homes for enjoying the life mixed with nature.

Tourist Places around Rasipuram

Kolli Hills

It's a hill station very famous for its herbals. Lot of herbals and spices are available there. Nowadays coffee also planted in this hill. One beautiful falls is there. To reach the falls we have to walk through a deep downwards passage of that hills. It's a really marvellous experience. We can spend the vacation there by enjoying its chilliness and with health herbal environment. It's 50 km from Rasipuram. It contains 98 hairpin bends the highest in India.

Yerchad

People are calling Yerchad as "Ooty of Salem" (Ooty is one of famous hill station in Tamilnadu). At my college days I went there a lot of times. Beautiful lake, Ladies Seat and Gents Seat are the attractions of Yerchad. Yerchad Summer Festival is major tourist attraction in every summer.

River Cauveri

This river passing through my district in many places. Mohanur is one of that places. Some of my family friends are there. So at my childhood I spent most of the summers in cauveri.
