Back in the mid to late eightys, in the small back water, industrial town of Chillicothe, OH, truely alternative music culture was non-existent. A young upstart musician named Christoper g. Mead was hammering out his skills on the guitar with pubuscent, hormonally driven vigor. This adrenaline-fueled musician decided, with punk comrades on each side, to bring about the new evolution of revolutionary, audio, destruction and subsequent recreation. Chris and his comrades invoked the spirits that be and raised the fires of hades inferno under the blood shed moon of october. Upon returning from his descent into the burned out ashes of insanity he birthed the early rock and roll creatures known as The Gas House Explosion and pre-industrial side project Caustic Cellephane. Unfortunetly these fledgling creatures did not survive, but they did eventually open the way for new and exciting projects.

By the time 1989 rolled around there had been a small localized atomic blast of thrash-punk energy that kick started the local scene. With local bands such as the anti p.c. hardcore cum hippie alterna-popsters Negative Vibe Merchants holocaust induced, thrash metalers "Heavenly Shades of Death", and 3 hardcore-d hodge-podged punks The Agency. This brings us back to local *c-town* punk rock prince "the Witch Doctor" aka: C.G.Mead* who delt deadly guitar blows out of the blinding fog of a stoner haze for the Agency. The Agency disentigrated after one and half years and only one live show (the drummer stole a microwave and was promptly kicked out. Within a years time after the break up of the Agency, Chris joined allegence with newly formed gothic punk experimental industrial noisecore band "Gouge". Got his guitar mojo working with Keyboardist/Vokillist Doug McMahan and bassist/vokillist Gavin Spencer.Gouge lasted from 1990 till 1992(rip), and a major facet in the foundation for the Guild Navigators.

During this time Chris was living the singles apartment life and having many a psychdelic party with all the local rockers, freaks and party people. Stoked and Stonified day and night, the witchdoctor was gathering much sweet nector from many hottie rock babes. Meanwhile, Gouge was continually breaking new grounds in the local chilli scene. Gouge created and headlined the first official, full fledged "alternative" music festival in Chillicothe, appropriately titled "Chilla-paloser" which took place at the Elks lodge summer of 1992. It included Narco Clone, S.P.I.T., Gouge, and several others i cant think of right now. The festival was a success(relativley speaking). The keg was emptied while adrenaline and beer fueled punk kids took free rides on the handicapped elevator chair and they nearly burned the elks to the ground. Gouge sold out of their first (and olny) full length cassette album releas titled "Catastrophic". Soon to be re-released right here on Amblifire Records. Anyhoo it was enough anarchism and mischief to make the old club members shudder with fear (Actually even the members of local Harley Riding I.B.A. showed up to this one and were too startled to stay for long, plus they drank us dry). There were clouds of cannabistic haze rolling out of every doorway. This all took place under the nose of Cap. Piggly Wiggly right next door. Gavin left for college in Dayton at Wright University to study science and Gouge desentagrated into an industrial town's smog filled smegma of dust, particulite and carbon fibers. Gouge made a short reunion appearance at Carl Hersches' House party (maybe you were there)in 1994 with My White Bread Mom and G.I.Joke. Now lets take a short leap forward in time *this isn't hard when your a Navigator*!

Doug (aka: Digger) continued on with a new project called Braindead Genius. At first with Chad Harris modestley contributing on drums and Andy Diekroger on guitar (Andy was original guitarist for Gouge. 1) Meanwhile Chris was reforming a new allegence with Agency vocalist Scott Waters and Heavenly Shades Of Death bass cruncher Andrew Church and not to mention Chris's 3rd cousin from just up the Catstail Rd., Ryan Harmon aka "Stinky" on drums. This coagulated into the lactose rich breast fed band called My White Bread Mom. During the time of My White Bread Mom (which i might add: this band became fairly popular in ohio, many other states and well distributed in Great Britain and other various Europeon countries). Meanwhile after 2- 7 inch vinyl releases secured with the My white bread mom boys, with 3 more on the way, inimitable Freak Spealey (C.G. Mead's now well known altar ego with orange motorcycle helmet and goggles in hand)decided to contribute to the Brain Dead Genious with "Digger Doug". Braindead Genius as sort of formulated sci-fi idea, was an interesting amalgamation of quirkey, novelty, post- industrial-rock and psudo-dark horror space rock which was perfect fodder for the Guild Navigators. Material from Gouge and Braindead Genius can be heard on GN's Album Phase 1-"The Last Decade". Which is also available right here on Amblifire records in CDR format. Braindead Genius lasted for 3 years and was basically a real "go nowhere" type of band after being transplanted to Dayton along with DiggerDoug and picked back up with Gavin and Doug with new Dayton members and minus Freak Spealey. Good ideas came from this, however unreliable, as far as extential members go.

And now, the rest of the story! While the now legendary (rip)Blue Monk Coffee shop was in full swing downstairs, with bands from across the land coming in for a gig, the band jam/hang out and practice spot upstairs was also in full swinging mode, all the kewl chilli bands were rehersing there including My white bread mom, and the Bloodlust Puppies. Aptley named after Chris' two cute puppyfied mut-hounds that murdered the local chicken coops and duck roosts with unbridled passion.

The Blue monk had the rug pulled out from underneath and turned bruised and purple with unreconcilable reproach. By the end of 95' My white bread mom had run their short lived fame and glory and also froze to a neer grinding halt in the icy bastions of inner city New York, at the Continental with the band Fat Fuck A sort of one off last glorious swan song gig.
