Positions for Yellow Knives inahans
There are some basic positions and commands that all Gorean slaves must know. The basic positions are - nadu, bara, sula and leasha. The following are described in basic terms and have all the necessary elements. The trick is to take these elements and weave your description and your personality into it. Do not copy another slave's description; although people say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery; here on Gor the slaves see it differently and will not look too kindly on a sister slave using her words.
Not all of these positions are found in the books but are here for all inahans to see.. in case she is commanded to do them. Only the ones with quotes are those found in the books. You are not to copy these as they are written by to use them as a guide to making each position your own. Use your creativity and originality to make them come alive for each one of you. As always remember you are to hold the position until told to release it, this is to be done without dramatics of how difficult any one of them may be to maintain. Remember.. a Yellow Knives inahan is always pleasing.. in sight and sound.
The Positions
NADU or POSITION OF A PLEASURE SLAVE This is the most basic of all the positions. This is the position a slave is in most of the time.
She kneels before her Master, her head held high, eyes downcast, knees spread wide open, shoulders back keeping her back straight (or arched slightly), breasts thrust outward. Her hands lie on her thighs, palms facing upward. Although her hands may be crossed behind her as is the custom in Thentis."Nadu" he snapped. She swiftly turned, facing him, and dropped to her knees. She knelt back on her heels, her back straight, her hands on her thighs, her head up, her knees wide. It was the position of the pleasure slave.

TOWER There is another variation of Nadu in which she kneels the same way, but with her palms down and her knees modestly together, wrists are held before her and when unoccupied are crossed as if for binding. This variation is referred to as Tower Slave Position and is typically reserved for underage or white-silk slave girls, or slave girls who serve their Master in a nonsexual way, such as a Tower Slave or female Work Slave. Free women kneel in this manner also but never cross their wrists.
"The position of the Tower Slave, in which Vika knelt,differs from that of a free woman only in the position of the wrists which are held before her and, when not occupied, crossed as though for binding...The position of the Pleasure Slave, incidentally, differs from the position of both the free woman and the Tower Slave. The hands of a Pleasure Slave normally rest on her thighs but, in some cities, for example, Thentis, I believe, they are crossed behind her. More significantly, for the free woman's hands may also rest on her thighs, there is a difference in the placement of the knees. In all these kneeling positions, incidentally,even that of the Pleasure Slave, the Gorean woman carries herself well;her back is straight and her chin is high. She tends to be vital and beautiful to look upon."

BARA This position is used for a variety of reasons, sometimes as punishment. She lays on her stomach, face down and turned to the left with her wrists crossed behind her back. Her ankles are crossed, as well, as if for binding.
"Bara!" he snapped. I flung myself to my belly in the grass, putting my hands behind me, wrists crossed, and crossing my ankles, too.

Both slaves went immediately to their bellies, their heads to the left, their wrists crossed behind their backs, their ankles also crossed. It is a common binding position. SULA This position is self explanatory. She lays on her back, her hands at her sides, palms facing upward. Her legs are spread wide open... she awaits Master's inspection.
"Sula! Kajira," said the man. She slide her legs from under her and lay on her back, her hands at her sides, palms up, her legs open.

SULA KI This position is almost identical to the Sula position, except once she has assumed the Sula position she slowly lifts her hips up off the floor, as if beckoning him with her body, encouraging her sexual use by him.

LEASHA This position is used to attach a leash. She kneels, her back to her Master, with her chin lifted and head turned to the left, offering her collar for leashing. Her wrists are behind her back, ready, if needed, to be snapped into slave bracelets.
"Leasha," snapped the second officer to the blond girl. She spun from facing him, and lifted her chin, turning her head to the left, placing her wrists behind her, as though for snapping them into slave bracelets.

HIGH LEASHA Similar to lesha except done from a standing position. She stands with her back to her Master, her hands crossed at the small of the back, her feet shoulder width apart, back and shoulders slightly arched, her breasts thrusting forward, head held high and tilted to the left with her eyes lowered in respect and submission.

BELLY This position is used for varied reasons, one of them being that it just pleases the Master. She falls to the floor face down, her forehead resting flat on the floor or on the Master's boot, her arms at her sides with her legs widely spread and then crawls to the Master on her belly.
"Belly," I said to Feiqa. immediately Feiqa, trembling, went to her belly on the stained, sooted stones by the fire.

CRAWL This is very similar to belly but there are differences. She gets down on all fours, her head down and crawls to the Master's feet placing a kiss upon them.
I pointed to the stones at my feet. "Crawl," I said, in Gorean. The girl slipped to her belly, and as a slave girl, crawled to my feet. She put her lips to my foot; I felt her hair over it. "Return," I told her. On her belly, head down, she returned to where she had knelt.

GOREAN BOW This position is very painful to maintain for longer than 5 minutes. She kneels in nadu position and bends her body backwards, her head to the floor, she places her hands by her head, and pulls up into a back bend.

Over her iron collar she wore a heavy leather Kur collar, high, heavily sewn, with its large ring. He thrust her two wrists before her body, into the ring he had cut from the Kur. He then tied them inside, and to, the ring. He then, from his belt, tool a long length of binding fiber and, doubling it, keeping it, securing it, as its center to the ring, leaving two long ends. He then threw her, on her back, over the body, bead down, of the fallen Kur. He took the two loose ends of the binding fiber and, taking them under the body of the fallen Kur, dragged her wrists, elbows bent, over and above her head; he then, bending her knees, tied one of the loose ends about her left ankle, and the other about her right. This was the Gorean Love Bow.

BRACELETS This position is used to put on slave bracelets for chaining the slave. A common place to chain slaves is to their Master's bed or at a Tavern where there are rings in the walls that a Master may use to attach a slave to while he goes about his business. She places her hands behind her back, her shoulders pushed back and her breasts thrust outward, her hands clasped tightly behind her back...ready for bracelets to be placed on her.
"Bracelets!" I said in Gorean. harshly. The girl snapped to position, hands behind the small of her back, head lifted, chin up, turned to the left. In such a posture she may be conveniently put in bracelets, and leashed.

HIGH BRACELETS She stands with feet a shoulder width apart, holding her head high with eyes lowered submissively, her arms out before her with wrists pressed together... ready for binding.

KNEEL TO THE COFFLE The girls kneel, closely, one behind the other, as their left wrists are placed in wrist rings; this is usually followed by the order to stand and then the order "Lower chain" where the girls lower their wrists. Thusly they are then in line, standing, coffled.
"Kneel to be coffled," said one of the men. The girls knelt closely, one behind the other. There were six wrist rings on the chain he carried. He placed the girl who had been whipped by Lady Sabina first in the coffle line. "Left wrist coffle," he said. They lifted their left wrists frightened. Interestingly, the man snapping the wrist rings on the girl's left wrists did not put the first girl, in the first ring, but the second. When the four maids were coffled there was, thus, an empty wrist ring both at the head and the rear of the line. " Stand, slaves, "said the man. "Lower chain." The girls stood. Then, ordered, they lowered their wrists. They were then, in line, standing, coffled.

"You may do obeisance my dear," said Kiliomenes. The girl rose to her feet and went to Kiliomenes. She knelt before him, on the dais, and put her head down. Gently, softly, she licked and kissed his feet. She then rose again to her feet, backed away and then on the tiles, again knelt. She put the palms of her hands on the tiles and lowered her head to the tiles. Then she straightened up, her back straight, assuming the position of the pleasure slave, though keeping her head bowed deferentially.

KARTA POSITION OF OBEDIANCE She kneels on the floor, her thighs spread widely to allow her to lay her chest upon the floor, she leans forward placing her breasts and forehead against the floor, she reaches out with her arms fully extended, palms against floor. Ankles may be crossed or uncrossed. Shows utmost respect. Requests may be made from this position.

Many masters, though it tends to be rather associated usually with given cities, require this position of their girls, usually when they first enter his presence or find themselves, as in a room which he has entered, in his presence. She is then, usually, when given permission, permitted to lift her head, but is to remain kneeling before him, beautifully, in a standard position, her knees closed if she is a house or tower slave, her knees open if she was the sort of slave I was, whatever sort of slave that was supposed to be.

TILE POSITION A slave, when passed by a Free Person in a hallway, room, or otherwise, to show their status as a slave will stop whatever they are doing, go down to their knees into the position of nadu, if they were standing, and then quickly lower their forehead to the floor, their arms outstretched and remain in this still position until the Free Person has completely passed by, or they decide to command the slave otherwise.
In the corridors, in our movements through them, particularly in the upper levels, we would sometimes encounter slaves, usually employed in domestic tasks, such as running errands, carrying burdens, dusting or cleaning. These women were usually naked, except for their collars, which, I gathered, was the way women were usually kept in a slaver's house. At the approach of the free men, Hermidorus and Drusus, they would immediately position themselves, usually with their knees wide, kneeling back on their heels, their heads up, their hands on their thighs, in the position I had come to understand was that of a pleasure slave, but sometimes instead, kneeling with the palms of the hands on the tiles, their heads down, too, to the same tiles.

PROSTRATE This is used on IRC when waiting to enter a room. She kneels and touches her forehead to the floor stretching her arms out before her with palms face down and fingers spread.

WHIPPING POSITION or KNEELING TO THE WHIP She first assumes the Nadu position, though with her arms crossed in front of her. She then leans forward and places her head to the floor, first sweeping her hair forward over her shoulders in order that her back might be utterly exposed to the whip.

Common Gorean Usage Position of this position - a method of touching without warning a slave girl who is being sold in order to exhibit her slave heat for potential buyers; commonly done using a coiled whip.....Then taking the whip from the whip slave the auctioneer stepped to the disconsolate girl; suddenly, without warning, he administered to her the Slaver's caress, the whip caress, and her response was utterly and uncontrollably, wild, helpless. She regarded him with horror. The crowd howled with delight. Suddenly she threw herself screaming hysterically, on the auctioneer, but he cuffed her to one side and she feel to her knees weeping. This is an instruction whereby the slave performs her regular duties upon hands and knees, without the benefit of the use of her hands. In this mode she may not rise to her feet and may use only her mouth and teeth to grasp and manipulate objects.
...In this discipline the female is forbidden human posture, in the sense that she is not allowed to rise to her feet. Her locomotion, unless commanded to roll, or put under similiar commands, suitable for a pet, will be on all fours. Her food will be thrown to her, or put in pans on the ground. In either case, she must feed without the use of her hands. She may also, of course, be feed by hand, but, again, will not be permitted to touch the food with her hands. She may be taught tricks. Sometimes these are taught as functions of arbitrary sounds, so that she must learn them as any animal might, without the benefit of an earlier understanding of the words used. If she is slow to learn, of course, she is punished, as would be any other animal. When used, too, it will commonly be in the modality of the she-quadrupled. This discipline is often used as a punishment, but it may also figure in the training of a new girl. It helps her to understand what she now is, an animal totally subject to her master. LEADING POSITION She stands and moves behind her Master, bending at the waist. She places her hands behind her and puts the side of her head to her Master's hip, that he might lead her easily by the hair or collar while walking.
Her master seized her from the circle then and hurried her from the light, her head down, held by the hair, at his left hip. This is a common leading position for female slaves being conducted short distances. As the master holds her hair in the left hand, it leaves his right hand, commonly the sword hand, free.

That she follows indicates that she is subservient, that he is master and she slave; that she follows on the left is a cultural matter probably indexed to the fact that most Goreans are right-handed.

HIGH HARNESS POSITION She tips her face up as high as she can and lets her head fall back to offer the Master her throat, it does not matter if she is kneeling or standing.

SLAVE-LIPS When this command is given, she turns her head up to the Master, her lips pursed in a sensual kissing position.
She remains motionless, her lips thusly puckered, and may not move until she is granted the kiss of a Master.A girl who is commanded to make slave lips, or who receives the command, "Slave lips," must form her mouth for kissing. She then, commonly, is not permitted to break this lip position until either she kisses or is kissed. Needless to say, a girl cannot speak when her lips are in th unbroken, fully-pursed slave-lips postion. The command which commonly follows the "Slave-lips" command is, "Please me."

SLAVE RAPE This is a common disciplinary position and certainly not meant to give a girl pleasure. It is used by a Master to remind a girl of her place and her purpose. In this position the Master uses the slave for the sole purpose of His own relief, habitually violently and with little time wasted. There are several types according to the books, however, the standard version is this: she lays on her back with her hands to the floor.
"Lie down upon it," I told her, "on your back, your head to the floor." She did so. " No please," she said, "not like this." It is a common position for a disciplinary slave rape. In it the woman feels very vulnerable, very helpless. I then took her.

SERRAR With this position she drapes her body over the legs of her Master, who is seated. If she is able, she keeps her hands and feet planted firmly to the floor on each side, raising her posterior, giving complete access to her Master. The important part of this position is that her derriere is in such a position that it becomes easily accessible to her Master, for discipline purposes, or training, her bottom opened for other purposes.

BLANKET This not a true command but is still an action the slave should remember. If something is thrown over her head she must remain silent and motionless until freed from it.
I then threw the second blanket, the top blanket, over her, covering her completely. When a blanket, or cloak, or covering of any sort, is thrown over a slave like this she may not speak or rise. She must remain as she is, silent, until the master, or some free man, lifts the covering away.

WALK COMMAND When this command is given, she turns in a graceful pirouette, her hair swinging. She then walks, gliding across the room, her feet hardly seeming to leave the floor, her hips swaying sensually, her body erect and proud. When she reaches her objective she halts and stands, her body erect, her shoulders back, her chest thrust forward, her belly in. She turns her hip out a bit, her hands at her sides, and points one foot. Her head is up and her eyes are lowered.

KNEE WALK COMMAND or KNEE CRAWL She travels on her knees, without standing, to fetch items or tend to duties. Also a Turian Knee Walk is mentioned, but not described except that it is sometimes used by slave dancers.
I indicated a flat leather box to one side. "Knee crawl," I said, "Fetch it here." She went to the box on her knees and picked it up, and returned to a place before me. It had been a simple knee crawl. I was briefly reminded, however, of the Turian knee walk, sometimes used by slave dancers. I considered the slave. I did not doubt but what she might be taught to dance.

RUN When this command is given, she runs toward her objective, taking short rapid steps, with her legs almost straight, her feet hardly leaving the floor. As she moves her back is straight, her head is turned to the left, and her arms are at her sides, her palms facing outward at a 45 degree angle to her body. Upon reaching her objective she drops gracefully to her knees and typically resumes the position of Nadu.
I was amused, for she had run as a slave girl is sometimes taught to run, with rapid short steps, her legs almost straight, her feet scarcely leaving the ground, back straight, head turned to the left, arms at her sides, palms out at a forty-five degree angle, more of a dancer's motion than a true run.

STAND or DISPLAY She stands with feet slightly farther than shoulder width apart, hip turned, her belly sucked in with her head held high , she may be asked to turn so her body may be properly inspected.
"Stand as a slave," he said. I stood beautifully, back straight, head high, belly sucked in, hip turned. No woman can stand more beautifully than as a Gorean slave girl.
