| Personal Traits: Cataria is tall, and
-according to various friends- attractive. She is quiet, feminine, and observant; But also
stubborn and a bit of a tomboy. Personality: Quiet, but loves to be around people. Sarcastic and sharp-witted when around people she knows. She is a great listener, and thinks well in tight corners. Hobbies: Earth history, art, writing, cooking, reading, sewing, psychology, and writing programs for the Holodeck. Place of birth: Her mother's merchant ship,
the Belosian. Early Life: She grew up on Betazed. Because her mom was the captain of her own small merchant ship, Cataria traveled around with her mother on her routes quite often. As a girl, Cataria tended to play with boys more than girls, as girls would never go exploring or roughhouse with her. Academy Life: Cataria joined the Academy at age 18. Though quite smart, she floundered in her subjects for the first few months, being overwhelmed by the dramatic change in living environment. She made friends fairly fast, however, and began to feel more comfortable at the Academy. She studied fairly hard, but always had more than enough time for friends and parties. Major Area of Study: Medical/Psychology Cadet Cruise: Cataria was assigned to a Miranda-class starship, the U.S.S Sierra. She received a commendation when the ship was assigned to observe the collapse of a sun in the uninhabited Delagosian system. The collapse had an odd effect on the magnetic fields in the nearby vicinity, which then in turn caused dramatic mood shifts in the crew. She worked tirelessly in sickbay under Dr. Goran to help keep the more affected of the crew comfortable and safe until the affects wore off. Personal History: Cataria's mother, Utta Jeno (formerly Utta Belorin), owns and captains her own merchant ship called the Belosian. It was on a trip to deliver some goods to Terok Nor that she met Cataria's father, Jeno Malyk. She snuck him off Terok Nor, and they moved to Betazed, where the have lived ever since. Cataria earned her love of the arts from her father, who took her to plays and concerts, read her books, taught her to sculpt, anything and everything he could get to relating art. Cataria has one half-brother, Jeno Sortta, who is Bajorin and was a bounty-hunter of Cardassians and Bajorin spies until he disappeared when Cataria was 11. Cataria had many friends growing up, but only one truly close friend, Jakob Krintch, whose parents were from Germany but moved to Betazed before he was born. They were nearly inseparable from the time they met until she went to the Academy. At the Academy she met Gabriel Vasquez, an American, with whom she had an on-again off-again relationship the entire four years she was there. Family: People from The Past: |
