History:

Having followed the path of his hero (Lahile) from childhood, Londir believed by the time he was nineteen he was ready to mediate on the greatest platform of negotiation within the Alpha Quadrant – The Federation Starships.

Annoyed that Starfleet didn’t acknowledge his past achievements and send him directly to the most important negotiations as chief liaison, Londir was forced to join Starfleet Academy like everyone else if he wanted to pursue his dream.

Although he graded very well, he was still frustrated that at the conclusion of his academic life he was only one step closer to becoming an accepted counsellor. He was an ensign under the control of another lieutenant. How could he prove himself worthy of Lahile if Starfleet did not trust him with the responsibility?

Although his psych exams forced him to face the possibility of overextending himself and causing the death of a patient as the result of misdiagnosis, Londir still feels he is ready for the job.

For two years he has been Lieutenant Sheree’s assistant on the USS Righteous, and when she was transferred across to the Providence, she requested he join her.

He still has trouble understanding the fragile balance of empathy and unnecessary interference and spends a great deal of his time in holodecks, practicing this art on various holograms which he has the computer select at random. “He will make a good ship’s counsellor,” Sheree has put in his record. “Once he learns how to deal with a patient’s feelings.”

Name: Kalyps Sheree (Kaly)

Race: Caitian

Gender: Female

Age: 29

Height: 5’ 6” (166cm)

Build: Slim

Hair Colour: Fiery Orange

Eye Colour: Pale Orange

Home Planet: Cait

Rank: Lieutenant (Counsellor)

Family: Bother her parents and two of her three brothers are civilians on Cait

Education: Standard Prior to joining Starfleet. Active duty during the Dominion War

History: The youngest in a litter of four, Kaly always had her sights set firmly on the stars. While her siblings were studying Caitian history and culture, Kaly would be on a hillside somewhere, staring up at the sky and dreaming of the day she could venture into space.

Her family was keen to help her reach her objective, and although her eldest brother made it into Starfleet academy before her, he went all out to find a subject which he felt his air-headed litter sister could handle. He sent her brochures on ‘counselling’ with a little note: “Even you can’t hash this up, Kaly,” written on the bottom.

Ignoring his witticism, Kaly graduated after four years of hard study. She became a very good counsellor, and her appearance helped tremendously in the need to uncover the psychological problems of otherwise difficult men. (Caitians are very easy on the eyes). After two years of being an assistant, Kaly was transferred to the USS Righteous and given an assistant of her own – one who the academy felt still needed a little training before sending him out alone. Watching the young ensign in action, Kaly agreed with Starfleet’s assessment of the Betelgeusan, and even after two years, she still felt he hadn’t gained enough control over his own viewpoints to remain neutral in the face of others.

Tragedy struck Kalyps for the first time during the war. Although she survived unscathed, she received word from her parents that her brother, who was a lieutenant commander on the Shappen, was killed during the final attack on Cardassia Prime.

Having never faced personal loss before, Kalyps buried herself in her work, until her captain sent her home to grieve with her family.

Three weeks later, when she was transferred to the USS Providence, she requested that Ensign Thorich be transferred with her after viewing her replacement’s interim report on him and deciding that type of negativity he didn’t need.
