Non Player Characters are characters that reoccur and may be used by any player in the game. You can think of them as the some times nameless Ensign's that take over the Helm, fill out an A-Way team, help in medical emergencies, are seen in Engineering, and over all occupy the ship.
Any player may create an NPC, provided they use standard proceedure for creating charatcers. It is understood that NPC's are for use by the whole crew, and "owner ship" of an NPC is hereby given up.
NPC's from the NPC bio's may not be killed, unless three quarters of the crew agree that an NPC should expire. The Captain will have the final say on the subject.
Player's who for reasons can not continue for an extended period of time,(two months or more) will have their character become an NPC until such time as the player can get back into the game.
