Kathryn was tired . . . dead tired. If someone were to tell her that the warp core was going to overload in ten seconds she'd have looked at them and said, 'I'll be in my quarters . . . asleep.' Shaking her head at this thought and giving a slight chuckle as she entered the turbolift she had to hold back a groan as the doors opened to reveal Chakotay. 'How many times have I been through this scenario and I still can't seem to handle it?' she asked herself glumly. Perhaps it were her devilish thoughts of things she could do to him in a turbolift . . . or of things she heard were possible in a turbolift . . . or things that . . .
"Captain, going to pack?" He asked.
'Damn him, he's as stubborn as I am,' she thought. "No. Commander." He let her step off first and walked behind her. When she reached her doors she waited for him to reach his door which was next to hers, though a little farther down then she would've liked. He started to tap in his access code when he felt her eyes on him and turned to look at her.
"Problem?" He asked smiling, knowing it was getting to her.
"Just making sure there's no funny business, Commander," She glared.
"Oh no, not me," he played the innocent.
"I've heard about you Commander," Kathryn continued the conversation from her standpoint and he from his. It was quite the sight.
"Have you now," he goaded her, knowing in her innocence and determination she wouldn't be able to resist it.
"Lieutenant Leland has stories about you and your Maquis-charm. Alpha Prime? The Zarian Banks of Quadra . . . . the Borders of Mund . .. ." she was barely finished.
He cut her off, "I get the point" he laughed. "And you heard right . . . then again, maybe you didn't," he played with her. "Well, goodnight," and he entered his quarters trying to contain his playful laughter. He was going to let her wonder a bit.
"Wait! What do you mean . . ." Kathryn stammered and was answered by his doors swishing shut. 'Damn, damn, damn. I fell for it,' she chastised herself. I am NOT going to fall for him . . no way in hell. She sighed and opened her doors. Walking in, she shrugged off her jacket and went to hang it up in her closet when something caught her eye. Was that someone sitting . . . on her bed? She stayed perfectly still . . . letting her eyes slowly sneak to the corner of her vision where she swore B'Elanna and Kes were sitting with ridiculous smiles on their faces. 'Wait a minute!' Kathryn turned with a startled cry making the two women jump and cry out with surprise of their own.
"What in the hell are you doing in my quarters!" She exclaimed.
Kes greeted her with a happy smile, "Hello, Captain!"
Kathryn caught on immediately to the smile and before she could think better she said pleasantly, "Hello, Kes!" But stammered and realized the absurdity to it all, "Explain yourselves!"
"Captain," B'Elanna stepped towards her and for some reason their fearless Captain was growing more and more uncomfortable by the second. "We can do this the easy way . . ." she stepped towards her and 'Kathryn-the-fearless' stepped back a step, " . . . . or the hard way."
Chakotay was busy gathering up a few books and some rather masculine clothes for the nightlife when he heard the yelling, screams, and thuds coming from the wall next door. He chuckled as he caught a few phrases: "I will NOT allow this . . . KES KES let GO of my hair . . B'Elanna! Put DOWN that dress . . . don't you even DARE replicate me that . . . DOCTOR! DOCTOR! This is an OUTRAGE!"
"Now Captain, Captain . . . CAPTAIN! Put down that vase!"
Chakotay couldn't stand another moment he fell to the floor of his quarters in waves of laughter and only laughed harder as he heard Kathryn throw something at his wall and yell, "This is all HIS FAULT isn't it?!"
Three Light Years From The Barian Spacial Hub Three, Vidiian Ship Galacia Five:
"You're sure their docking was confirmed," the Vidiian, Makdar, asked his colleague.
"Coordinates were confirmed. I even talked with the minister himself. If you're willing to come through with your end of the bargain for him . . . he'd be willing to help you," the man stated at the other end of the communication screen.
"We've been through this already, I've agreed to help the minister, as long as I get Janeway," Makdar growled.
"Tell the Raylexians to follow the coordinates . . . . she's as good as yours," he stated before ending the transmission.
