The Inventor of the Telephone -Alexander Graham Bell

Read this article at the Library of Congress American Memory website.  Answer the following question about Alexander Graham Bell's life.

1.  How old was Bell when he invented the telephone?

2.  Was Alexander Graham Bell just interested in communications?

3.  Explain Bell's quote:   "There cannot be mental atrophy in any person who continues to observe, to remember what he observes, and to seek answers for his unceasing 'hows' and 'whys' about things."

4.  Alexander Graham Bell fell in love with a woman who was deaf.  His parents were not happy with his choice.  Read the letter Alexander wrote to his parents begging them to approve of his love choice.  If you were Bell's parents, how would you respond?
