Distributed Application Design and Development (10 weeks) :
I explored and used Visual Basic (VB) to develop distributed network business applications such as Sales Contact Management Systems. I installed and configured a Management Information System software package and connected this system to an Internet/Intranet application using VB and Active Server Pages (ASP) technologies. During this module I began by developing a client/server application. I then took this application and further developed and deployed it across the Internet and a Local Area Network (LAN). I further discovered how to connect the server to the Internet, and used Microsoft Internet Information Server (IIS) software and COM+. 
    Object-Oriented Analysis and Design as well as component-based development were central to the applications developed within this module. 
    The skills and hands-on experience I acquired during this module will be invaluable in the workplace.
