Suburban Crisis formed in the spring of 1997 under the name The Nuisance; members including Shonen (Drums) Sean Crisis (Guitar) Spenser Dee (bass) and Jessie (Vocals). The Nuisances first show was played at a local bar called Shakers; a less then steller performance. The second, and much better performance, took place at the first annual Little Neck Church show in october of that year.
From this point The Nuisance began playing shows semi-regularly and produced a very low budget, six song demo entitled Kids For Chaos; which features songs still played live as well as retired ones.
Relations growing thin with Jessie, the band felt it was time for change. Jessie left or was kicked out depending on who you talk to, leaving Sean lead vocalist. It was also at this time that the band decided to change their name to Suburban Crisis. (Punk Rock Carla deserves partial credit on that name.)
Suburban Crisis released a better quality, four song demo under the new name entitled, 100% DIY in Nov. of 1998(No longer Sold). The Demo was well spread acros Ny area. The tracks on that Demo along with two older recordings also apear on the DIY hardcore 4 band spit CD which there are still a few copies left. The band playing shows more frequently and began the process of releasing two split 7 records; one with The Truents (Guillotine Records) and the other with Sucker Punch, of Brooklyn. Both 7s were recorded late winter of 1999 and were released the following August. The Split 7" w/ Sucker Punch there was only 500 pressed, there are few left. The split 7" w/ the Truents are still in strong circulation.
Suburban Crisis are still playing shows to this day and hope to keep the brew flowing and the havoc reaking.
