Ch 11
The expression on V's face, as she stood on the deck watching Jerry, was not one of amusement. "Jerry Jacks, when is this ship going to dock back in Port Charles?"
Jerry smiled amused by her tone. So few women ever stood up to him. She was the second woman to do so today. "Well, Luv, tomorrow." He answered simply.
Fire raged in V's eyes as she tried to calm herself enough to speak. "What do you mean tomorrow? Where are we going to sleep? How will I be able to get ready for the ball? When did you plan on telling me this?"
Jerry smiled. Always practical, he thought to himself. "Tomorrow as in after midnight tonight." Before he could answer the rest of her questions; she broke in again.
"After midnight? One, two, three? Exactly how long after midnight? Didn't you think I might have something to do tomorrow? I like to sleep. Why would anybody stay all night on a boat to raise money for fishermen. Nobody cares about them that much. What could possibly be so interesting that people would want to stay up for?"
Jerry enjoyed her display before answering the question. "I can think of lots of things I would stay up for. Your company is quite entertaining for one thing."
"Jerry you are pushing it. Answer me."
It was all Jerry could do to keep from laughing. "All right, Luv, keep your dress on." He was about to make a comment about the entertainment that could be derived from her not keeping her dress on. However, he thought better of it.
"I know what you are thinking and it isn't a funny. Start talking or I swim."
Something in her eyes told Jerry that he shouldn't test her on her last statement. She might well be that stubborn. "The boat will dock sometime around nine. It depends on the weather conditions. However, the final entertainment for the evening is watching the sun come up over the Atlantic. After the sun rise the boat will go back and we will dock."
"Sleep! How am I supposed to sleep?"
"Well, luv, there is something romantic and exciting about staying up all night and watching the stars from a boat at sea."
"There is something appealing about me not showing you the martial arts training I received at the academy."
Jerry laughed. "If you must sleep, we have a cabin. It has a berth for sleeping."
"Just one? How presumptuous are you?" V asked still upset.
"Honestly? Very, however, when I got these reservations I intended to be with Bobbie. Bobbie wouldn't have had any problem sharing the berth with me." Jerry said hoping to ease V's anger.
"And you expect me to feel the same way?" V asked curiously. "I am not Bobbie."
"No you aren't. I will sleep on the floor, or not sleep at all. However, I can think of so many more entertaining things for us to do with our night." Jerry said giving her his most charming smile.

At The Outback Jax was becoming increasingly more concerned over the Bobbie's manner. There was something she wasn't telling him. He needed to get to the bottom of it, quickly. "What is it? What is the thing I should know about the fund-raiser? Don't tell me it is raising funds for immoral practices. V wouldn't stand for that. Either would you. What is it?"
"The cause isn't important. They won't be back tonight. They are on a short cruise. They won't be back until tomorrow."
"My brother is spending the night with V?" Jax asked stricken.
Bobbie nodded. "It would appear that way."
"Is there anyway I can get to the boat? If I catch it, I can get her off before….."
"Jax, what are you worried about?" Bobbie asked although she thought she knew.
"He is with V. What if, what if something happens between them? Jerry is charming. He is notorious for his treatment of women."
"Jax, you know he wouldn't hurt her. You also know she wouldn't let him take advantage of her. She is a strong woman. Going out there would only make you look stupid and overprotective?"
"What do I do?" He asked softly. "I have to do something?"
Bobbie thought long and hard before she opened her mouth to offer her advice. "I have an idea."
