Ambitions
Ch 6

"Are you going to let your guest in?" Sonny asked as Jerry shifted his eyes between the door and Sonny's position on the couch.

"I don't think so." Jerry did not want Sonny getting involved, especially if this was somebody coming to see him about his case.

"Well that is ridiculous. They can hear that we are here. There are two cars in front of the house." Sonny said as he got up to open the door.

"No, I will get it." Jerry said as he rushed to cut Sonny off. Both men were standing by the door when Jerry opened it. When Jerry saw the woman standing in front of him, he knew she knew he was new partner. Still, he had a tough time believing it.

The woman looked confused. "Could he be my contact man?" She asked herself silently as she put her foot in the door. She was not about to be kicked out. Then she noticed Sonny behind him. "The poster children for civil and criminal disobedience?" She asked with a laugh. Why would they be here if this is where she was supposed to meet her partner?

"Nice to see you again too, Luv." Jerry said with an ironic smile.

Sonny stood behind them confused. "What is she doing here?"

---

Eve was heading out the door when Amy stopped her and handed her a chart. "What are you doing? I am off." Eve said worried that if she didn't leave now she would never be ready in time.

"There was an ten car pileup on the interstate. Everybody who is here is on." Amy said as she handed Eve her chart. Amy left before Eve could protest further.

Eve groaned as she walked into this room. She prayed this would go fast. "Emily, what are you doing here?" Eve tried to be friendly. She knew there would be no cutting corners with the chief of staff's daughter. However, she also realized that unless she was really lucky she would be really late. Once again she found herself fighting between her career and her love life.

"I was in the accident." Emily lifted her arm to show the long cut. "It isn't bad but I need stitches, I guess."

Eve breathed a sigh of relief. Stitches would go fast. Even making sure there would be no scaring, it would take no more than a half an hour. "Okay, kiddo. I need to clean you up, and test for infections, and then we will sew you back up." A little while later she was done. "Come back so I can check these in a week and two, okay? Is there anything else you need?" Eve asked and she tried to telepathically get the teen to say no.

"Can you check on my friend?" Emily asked in an obviously worried voice. "It was my fault. I need to know that he is okay."

---

"Laura are you okay? What is going on with you?" Scott asked with a worried grin. He was truly curious about her reason for being mysterious. However, he wished she would cut to the chase. Then he noticed the reason she stopped. The door had opened.

"Daddy? I don't feel so good." Serena said as walked in and up to him.

"Hey Princess are you okay? How did you get home? Weren't you visiting Lee and Gail? Are they here?" Scott asked as he picked Serena up and checked for fever.

"No Daddy, they were busy, he brought me." Serena said as she pointed to the figure in the doorway.

Laura turned pale when she saw him. "Kevin."

---

"Stefan." Bobbie said in an exasperated voice.

"Carly doesn't like me. Plus, I have things I need to get done here." Stefan said as he escorted Bobbie to the door. "I will see you later."

"Are you sure?" Bobbie really wanted him there for moral support.

Stefan started to relent when his beeper went off. Not wanting to worry Bobbie about the code he saw he spoke softly. "I will see you in a couple of hours. I hope everything goes okay.

Bobbie left and twenty minutes later she was standing in front of Jason's penthouse door.

"Momma." Carly said as she reached out to give Bobbie a hug. Pulling back she gave her mother a long once over. Catching a new piece of jewelry she began. "What is this? Start talking."

---

Luke told Jason to come over and then hung up the phone. He went down to his office and waited. Soon there was a knock on the door. He opened it without a smile. "Start talking, Morgan. What's up?"

"I have been at the medical library researching Sarah's symptoms. I need to help her. Jason Q understood the all that science crap. I thought that maybe I could too. It was hard at first, but I understood… I am not him. I needed to help her." Jason said as his control on his emotions deteriorated.

"It's okay Jason, wanting to help your daughter doesn't change who you are. What did you find?" Luke hated the interruption but it wasn't that long ago that Lu was sick. He would have given the world for her. Looking at Lane he knew he would do the same for that child. He understood.

"This blood disease. I think that is what she has." Jason held out a printout from a medical journal. "There is only one person who can make her better. We need to find him." Jason said still upset but calming down to focus on his task.

"Who?"

---

"V? Am I in love with V?" Jax asked indignantly. "Why would you ask that?"

Alexis looked at him like he had just asked her if the moon was made of cream cheese. "Why would I ask that? She is the only woman you let in. She had control of your life. You tried to buy her back from Ned a million times. When she left you walked around for weeks like you had lost your best friend." Alexis said her words coming out faster as she continued.

"Alexis, honey, calm down." Jax said trying to remain in control. "This isn't like you. Why are you so upset?"

"Why am I upset? Did you just ask why I am upset? It took us nine months to even really kiss. We just decided to make this work. Now she is back. How would you feel if I told you I had lunch with Ned?"

"Did you?" Jax asked obviously worried.
