Ambitions
Ch 2

After hanging up the phone, Jerry began his paper work. It seemed that the longer he stayed with the WSB the more red tape he had to deal with. Still, as much as he hated paper work, it beat doing odd jobs for Jasper. He often wondered how anybody believed that his ‘projects’ for J and J Jacks fulfilled him.

Opening his laptop he began to write a detailed report of exactly what had happened on the docks that day. As he wrote he hoped the information he received would be enough to get him started on his next assignment.

----

Eve’s tone became more serious as she examined her patient’s wound. “Want to tell me exactly what happened?”

“No, but thanks for asking.” Sonny said with a laugh.

“Well, why don’t you try it anyway. I need to know what happened. It will help me treat you.” Eve said discouraged by his answer.

“All you need to know is that I was shot. It might help to know the caliber of the bullet that hit me. I already gave you my best guess on that one.” Sonny said annoyed at her questions but enjoying that she asked them. So many people were afraid to know about anything he was involved with they shied away from talking to him. Nobody ever asked questions.

“Why don’t you tell me what happened? It will fall under doctor patient confidentiality.” Eve said with a smile as she continued to work on him.

“It won’t help my treatment. Why do you want to know?” Sonny asked with cool amusement.

“Well no book or movie has really excited me since the Godfather. I hoped a little real life action would get my juices flowing.” She said with a wink.

“I have a better idea of how to get your juices flowing. Interested?”

---

“You wanted time alone with me? What do you have in mind?” Laura asked with a smile.

“Well, I wanted to make sure you were still coming to my place for dinner tonight. I was also hoping I could talk you into lunch today. Will you come to lunch with me?”

Laura groaned silently. “I am afraid I am too busy for lunch. I have an appointment.” Well, at least it sounds better than I have another date. Laura added silently. “In fact I really have to leave now. I will be at the lighthouse tonight though.” Laura said aloud but softly. “See you then?”

Kevin agreed reluctantly. “I will see you then. Can I walk you to your car?”

“Sure I need to drop these papers off for Stefan.” Laura picked up the file and walked to Stefan’s office. Trying the door she found it locked. She knocked and waited for a response.

---

Stefan and Bobbie worked to suppress giggles and moans. Finally they heard a second knock and then papers sliding under the door. “Is it always so busy in here?” Bobbie asked between steamy kisses.

“I hadn’t noticed it before.” Stefan said his voice hoarse with desire. “I will stop being so kind to visitors. Maybe they will stop dropping by.” That had been the third time somebody had come to knock on the door. Stefan was getting more than a little annoyed.

“Good because I hope to get you alone like this more often, much more often.” Bobbie said before they both stopped talking and returned their concentration to one another.

---

Carly picked up her crying newborn. “It’s okay, Sarah. Mommy is going to make those doctors find out what is wrong with you. I promise.” Carly tried to sound convincing. Sarah wasn’t getting any better and nobody could tell her what was wrong.

As soon as the baby settled down the phone rang. “This better be good.” She said relieved that her daughter had remained quiet. Looking at the digital read out next to the phone she smiled. “It is Daddy.”

---

“Tell me ‘Dad’, is there anything I can do to help you Spencer men?”

Luke looked at Lane then at his wife. “One I am not old enough to be your father. Lane and Lulu can call me Dad. Two, Don’t ever leave us.” Luke said sadly. “We have both lost too much already.” Luke looked back at his son. “One day people are going to tell you some bad things about your Mom, however, Tammy was a good woman. She loved you very much.” Luke was about to continue when Claude came in. Luke looked back at his wife. “I need to get out front can you put him down?”

“Can I put him down? What kind of question is that.” She picked up the baby and sat in Luke’s chair. “You need a story. How about the story of how your Daddy and I got married?”

----

Jax looked at V. She was still beautiful but looked tired, worn down. The light behind her eyes wasn’t as bright as it had been. “I have as long as you need. Would you be more comfortable upstairs?”

V looked at Jax. “Yes actually, I would. Is that okay? You seemed to be waiting for somebody? Chloe? Did you marry her?” Venus asked as she scanned his hand for a ring.

“No I did not marry Chloe.” Jax said as an odd expression crossed his face. Before V could read it he spoke again. “Let’s go upstairs. I want to know what has been going on with you. Why did you stop writing? Why are you back?”

V sighed. She would have to tell everybody sometime. She might as well start with Jax. “I will tell you everything; but I want to change first.” Or maybe just collect my thoughts, V thought silently. “Can you have a salad sent to the penthouse? I will meet you up there in a few minutes.” After saying that she got up and went to her room.
