"Josie?" Ryan asked, stepping into her room slowly. She had done a
reasonable amount of unpacking. She had already put her clothes away, and
had set up a few of her things.
"Yeah?" She asked as he stepped into the room and closed the door behind him.
Slowly sitting down on the edge of her bed, he hopped up and down on it softly. "Josie?" He asked again as she pulled a few wrapped objects out of a box.
"Yeah?" She asked, slightly annoyed.
"Do you like it here?" He questioned, pulling at her newly unfolded comforter.
She sighed, and unwrapped a group of picture frames. "I don't know Ry, I haven't been here long enough to decide." She answered, picking up one frame in particular. Glancing at the faded picture she sighed. The eyes that looked back at her were her own. Younger and happier as she stood next to her mother.
"Josie?" Ryan inquired once more.
"Yeah?" She asked, blinking away her thoughts as she placed the picture carefully on her glass vanity.
"Do you like Jillian?" He asked quietly as she groaned and walked over to where he sat.
"What's with all the questions?" She asked as he shrugged.
"I don't know, just wondering." He said as she ruffled his short brown hair. Just as she was about to say something, there was a muffled knock on her door.
"Come in." She called. There were a few groans and the sound of heavy shuffling as the door slowly pushed open.
"Jesus ... how many boxes did you bring?" Nathan and Ben gasped as they both waddled into her room, lifting heavy boxes. Setting them down, they smiled to themselves.
Turning her head to the side, Josie smirked. "Fragile, this end up."
"It's the thought that counts." Nathan smiled widely as Josie nodded.
He looked around him and smiled. "Need some help unpacking?" Nathan asked as Josie adapted a thoughtful look.
She didn't really want to be friendly to Nathan since he was the enemy. But he did seem nice. Ben on the other hand, she didn't mind being mean to, even if he was kind of cute. "Yeah sure." She shrugged, pulling one of the new boxes to her. Pulling on a corner of it, Josie fought to get it open.
"Here, let me help." Ben smiled, tearing the box open and Josie frowned at him.
"Thanks." She said sarcastically as he pulled out a wrapped stereo.
"CD's." Nathan said as he pulled out a box full of music. Flipping through the CD's quickly, Nathan laughed and pulled out one CD in particular. "A silverchair fan I see. So you know our little friend Ben. Is that why you're being so stand offish?" Nathan grinned as Ben blushed furiously. He had never been the kind to let a girl get to him this way, but there was something about her.
"First off, that's not mine, it's Ryan's. Second off, what does that have to do with Ben. And thirdly." She frowned, crossing her arms over her chest, causing Ben to stare. "I'm being so 'standoffish' because Ben is an idiot." She smiled matter of factly as Nathan laughed.
"Right, so you have no idea who he is?" Nathan asked as both she and Ryan gave them strange looks.
"Nevermind then." Nathan said quickly as he was called downstairs. "Hey Josie, do you surf?" Nathan asked as he and Ben walked to the door.
"No." She said, going through he rest of her things. "I don't know how."
"Well, then." Nathan smiled to Ben. "Be ready by 12 tomorrow, We'll teach you." He said, rushing out of the door with Ben before she could argue.
