As the FAdm sat in the Command chair of the Midway looking over data pads off different battles going on all over the Federation he new this war was not going well at all. The FAdm began looking at the Akagi as she was being towed behind the Nimitz, it hurt him to see his own ship being towed like it was, we had seen many battle together and I promise it want be the last. The FAdm sent a Order to DS9 to begin work on the Akagi so it could get under way again. Then as the FAdm was setting in the chair he got a call from the Doc to report to sick bay, Doctor I know what your going to say and I can't come now, the Doctor replied it's not you Sir. Very well, on my way replied the FAdm, Now what the FAdm thought to himself well RAdm Higgins is gone and VAdm Kbee is gone I don't like the sound of this replied the FAdm. The Torbo opened Sick bay replied the FAdm and it took off, the FAdm walked in the Sick Bay saw many of the officers hurt and walked by a few of them you have done a well job and patted a few them.....Doc you wanted to see me............ The battle was over, but the Victorius was rocked. Luckily for the later part of this battle the Victorius had the captured Jem'Haddar ship to protect her. And the aid from the Romulans saved Victorius from the onslaught she was recieving from the Dominion at the end of the battle. The Victorius was now on it's way to Starbase 31 for repairs. Capt Harkleroad stood up from the command chair and began to walk towards the turbolift and he turned to his second officer sitting ops and he said, "Mr. Abrems, you have the bridge." The captain entered the turbolift and was off to deck 7, to his office. When he got to office he walked through the open door and then stopped, turned around and walked into the arboretum instead. Harkleroad walked over to bench right in front of one of a window. He gazed out at the captured Jem'Haddar warship trailing nearby and the Akagi being towed by the Nimitz. He thought to himself about the losses the fleet incured through this battle. The captain then closed his eyes and lowered his head to just think. Suddenly a voice from behind him said sir, "Sir, permission to speak?" Without looking up the captain said, "Why don't you just sit down Mr Abrems and tell me what is on your mind!" The ship's second officer, a young man name Marc Abrems, reluctantly sat down next to his CO. Just before he could get his first word out the captain said, "Marc, what was your assesment of this battle?" Lt. Abrems took a moment to forget what he was going to say and to answer the captain's question. "I think that we could have fought harder...I mean we may have been able to do more for the effort." "Indeed we could have, but how much more Mr. Abrems? We scrambled here through enemy space, we diverted the enemy fleet, we helped to capture the Jem'Haddar ship, and we lost all forward shields after we rammed a Jem'Haddar ship head on." The captain looked out at the injured fleet heading homeward, "But, I do think we could have done more, fortunately or unfortunately Mr Abrems we will be ready to fight again in just a day or two. We lost a major system but we only lost one and we will be running at full steam again very soon...some of the other ships that fought in this battle will take much longer to mission ready again. That means, Mr Abrems, I want you to have this ship fully operation within 24 hours of our arrival at Starbase 31." The captain looked at Lt. Abrems and stood up and walked past him into his office. Lt Abrems watched the captain enter his office and then watched the door swoosh shut and the window to the CO's office went opaque. Lt Abrems, rolled his eyes, his never got to say what he wanted to say and it was obvious that captain wanted to be alone so he returned to the bridge. The captain sat in his office pouring over all of the records and sensor logs from the battle and he made notes on the mistakes made. The captain looked at the federation symbol displayed on the large view screen on his wall and he said out loud, "WE WILL WIN THIS WAR!"

The Commodore sat behind his desk, waiting for the arrival of his chief engineer,as he looked over several data padd's of damage report's and estimated time for repair's. "Computer" Timm asked "Start Recording" =/\= Start when Ready =/\= Commodore's Log Supplemental........ Most repair's minor repair's will be finished by the time we reach DS9, it'll take at least a week to get the power transfer conduit to the port nacelle repaired, luckily we didn't loose the whole thing.......... The door chime beeped..."Computer pause recording" stated the Commodore "Come" The door open to reveal the ship's chief engineer, who entered looking like she had gone a few round's with a Klingon Targ. Instead of sitting down, she headed straight for the replicator....... "Ya know Timm, I was just thinkin...." she paused "Computer, Orion herb tea, extra sweet" "And what might that be, Commander?" Timm replied She stood their for a second trying to find the right word's, she didn't want to make the Commodore mad but...she needed to ask... for her own sanity as well as the rest of the engineering staff. She had been under allot of pressure lately..but...she conceded to herself that they weren't the only ones. "Well" she chose her word's carefully as she sat down in front of the Commodore's desk, taking a sip of her tea " what's the possibility's of shore leave for the engineering staff, after all the repair's" The Commodore sat there contemplating the request. This was a question he really wasn't ready for, as it was he had to tell that she was going to be temporally reassigned. He didn't want to lose her but it wasn't his choice. When the commander of the 9th fleet gives you an order you'd better damn well follow it, but at the same time, he didn't want too lose her. "Well Sarah, when we reach DS9, your to transfer to the USS Integrity, Vice Admiral Nechayev's ship" he stated "actually, you'll take the USS Zhukov to the Integrity's location on the border of Vulcan". He waited for a reponse, the one he knew he'd get from her...... "Why?" she asked, showing that she really didn't like the idea of leaving the Midway, it was her baby after all and why leave your kid to someone else. "Well, the Integrity fresh out of the Yard, she's a Sovereign, with a few "extra's"....and it's only a temporary posting...I'm shure Lt... Commander Pax can handle thing's why your gone" he knew that this wouldn't fly but it wasn't his choice. " I'm shure Laura will do fine job, but I like it here, the Midway is my baby, I know her like the back of my hand, is their any way to get out of this Timm?" she asked. "Unfortunately, no.." he paused second taking a sip of his now cold coffee, making a face as he did so "this is at the request of the Vice Admiral herself, she knows the improvement's you've made to the Midway, and with a war on, she need's a veteran engineer, especially one who knows her way around a Sovereign engineering room" "Damn" she replied " So I have no choice...well if will excuse me, I guess I need to pack" she stood up and made her way to the door stopping and pausing for a second looking back at the Commodore. "I know what your going to say commander" talking before she could get a word in edge wise " and the answer is still no, you'll be back in no time,as it is your not the only one transferring out for a while" The young commander turned and walked out into the corridor of deck 8, having a funny feeling that she may not see the Midway again. =/\= =/\= =/\= =/\= Mean while back in the Commodore's quarter's................ The commodore sat their watching the young engineer walk out of his room, "Hate to lose a fine officer like that" but he knew his hand's were tied. Timm stood up, and headed back over to the replicator and ordered himself another cup of coffee, taking a sip he headed back to his desk to finish up on department head's report's.......his comm badge chirped. " Higgins here, go ahead." he replied. The next voice he heard was his communication's officer's. " Sir, it's the Mars Ship Yard on an secured channel" the communication's officer replied "I'll take it in here" the commodore reached over and tapped his computer. The symbol of the USC flashed up. =/\= this is a secured transmission, please use security clearance=/\= " Security clearance Higgins-Alpha-Tango-one" Timm replied =/\= security code verified =/\= The screen showed a young commander, Chief Marks, who was keeping an eye on the yard's while the Commodore was away, in the background Timm could see a Galaxy Class starship sitting in keel pod 2. "Cheif, what can I do ya for...." the Commodore asked. The Cheif looked like he was talking to someone off screen. "Well sir, I received sealed order's from Starfleet, we are to decommission the USS Moonblade, she's had a computer core, and warp core upgrade..." The Commodore sat their for a second....why did the name Moonblade ring a bell...he just couldn't place it. "Chief, the Moonblade, wasn't she under the command, of....." still trying to think of her CO. "Sir she's going to be under command of Admiral Llira Tyrel..." the Cheif responded "Umm..Cheif she's retired if I remember correctly" taking a sip of his coffee "Well sir with the war taking the lives of many Starfleet officer's, she's requested to return to active duty, and from what I can tell she's going to be under your command" reading off a padd that was handed to him. "Interesting...hmm..thanks chief...Higgins..out" as his switched off his viewer and tapped his comm badge... "Higgins to, Communication's...send a message to the CO of the Moonblade - Admiral great to have you aboard, please proceed to Deep Space 9...there you'll receive your new order's". He got an "aye sir" and the channel closed. Pushing himself out of his chair he decided to head to sickbay to see what Kbee was doing.

Kbee laid on the bio-bed for a while thinking. After a while she got bored of looking at the montonus grey of the regulation ceiling. Then when the Rear Admiral arrived she decided it was time for her to do something. She joined the Doctor, FAdm , and RAdm in the Doctors Office. The Doctor looked disapprovingly at Kbee but decided not to say anything. He had been in the middle of a conversation but things had gone quite. Kbee didn't her sixth sense to tell something was wrong. The air was cold and oppressive. She shivered. The doctor took a deep breath, and began, " I have done a scan of Kbee, and this is what I found." He spun his computer terminal round so that it faced the officers. Kbee frowned. "Its my brain, nothing unusual about that. Everyone has one". Timm laughed at the awkard joke but he did not take his eyes of the screen. The FAdm studied the screen and said, "So?" The doctor did not smile instead he enhanced the picture. In the left hand corner of Kbee's brain was what undoubtly a machine. "An implant?" "yes". "its purpose?" "I don't know"
*************************************************************************
The FAdm turned to the Doctor, it's got to be a Dominion implant........the FAdm looked over at RAdm Higgins, "This looks like the implant that Starfleet Intel got back from one of the dead Cardassians on a ship we took from them", "Doctor surely you can take this out? The FAdm whated on his response................ "
************************************************************************
The Doctor shook his head, "No way, not without killing Kbee".
