" Sir, the FAdm's aboard and the away team is working on the ejection of the Akagi's Warp Core" informed the Lt.. at Op's. The Commodore looked over the Op's Officer's shoulder just so he could see for himself that the FAdm, was safe......for the moment. Report's flooded in from all deck's, casualties, damage so far to all deck's, it looked pretty much a bad situation. "Tactical, what's the status; of the Nimitz" the Commodore quizzed his XO " Well, sir she's holding her own, minor damage to their flight control, Captain Scott seem's to be holding it together" replied his second in Command. "Very well Mitch, now what's the Status on the away-team aboard the Akagi?" "Commander Sparehawke report's that the core will be ejected in 1 min 30 second's from........now!" "Good" replied the Commodore " Beam them out as soon as the core is ejec....." just then another disrupter blast shook the Midway, throwing the Commodore out of his command chair, there was an explosion on the bridge.....the light's flickered on and off, finally giving way to the back-up generator's producing a darker bridge. Klaxon's blared, the computer in it's statico voice repeating....."Main Life Support is off-line, Main Life support is off line", Timm picked himself up off the deck an turned to get to tactical only to find his XO hunched over the station, Timm reached over to remove Cmdr. Mitchell's lifeless form off the Tactical station just to find out that the entire station had been damaged beond repair. "Damn, he thought to himself, need to get life support back on line......wait... the battle bridge that's it!" The Commodore took inventory of who was left on the bridge, conn officer, op's and science, five in all he counted...."Everyone, head to the battle bridge we will operate from their, now MOVE!" ordered the Commodore. Commodore Higgins ran to the nearest turbo-lift and stepped in- "Battle Bridge" he shouted, and they were on their way. The door to the battle bridge swooshed open, they ran in and took their station. "Computer, transfer all bridge command function's to the Battle bridge, authorization Higgins Omega 8" asked the computer. "Security access granted, all command function's transferred to battle bridge" replied the statico computer voice, the it returned to " Main life support off-line". The Commodore took a step up to the environmental station, touched the display a few times and brought up life support back-up's on line and the Computer confirmed this- "Back-up life support is now online". Commodore Higgins moved over to the Tactical station, to see how his away team was doing, "Chief Sparehawke to the Midway" came a voice out of no where. "Go ahead Chief, hope you have good news?" asked the Commodore "Yes sir, warp core has been ejected, where on our way out Now" she replied. "Well , that's a relief" thought the Commodore, now with his Chief Engineer back on board they could start making preparation's to tow the Akagi, after this was over. The Commodore tapped his comm pin... "Commodore Higgins to Sick bay, how's the FAdm?" " I have him stabilized, but we really need to get him back to DS9" replied the Vulcan Doctor "Understood" replied Commodore Higgins "Conn, send a message to the Nimitz, tell them they are to prepare to tow the Akagi back to DS9, we are on our way shortly, Commodore Higgins out!" "Chief I need warp power ASAFP!" barked the Commodore "We have to get to DS9" he thought to himself.

Lieutenant V'thnela did a double punch to the chest of a Jem'Hadar in front of her, pushing him out of arm range, then kicked the second Jem'Hadar, slamming him back into the bulkhead with enough force to leave him shaking his head for a second. A second was all she needed. Readying her phaser rifle, she fired off a few shots on a low kill setting at the first warrior, then the same to the second one. She winced, hating to have to kill an enemy, but the Jem'Hadar were to fast to wake from even the heaviest stun setting, and that would leave an enemy at her back, something she could ill afford when there were lives in the balance. Besides, the Jem'Hadar soldier she had shot was probably only in a coma, because even the low kill settings didn't always work as effectively. Turning, she took careful aim at the the Jem'Hadar that was still slamming Cadet Pharell into the bulkhead, and squeezed off a triple pulse, taking him out in a blaze of gunfire. With no one to hold her up, Cadet Pharell slumped backward onto the bulkhead, her eyes glazed over and blood dribbling from the corner of her mouth. Lieutenant V'thnela shook her head in consternation, and turned her attention to the rest of her team. With the help of the two combat-experienced Security officers, Chief Timothies and Leader Jacobson, they had managed to overcome the rest of the Jem'Hadar, with only one minor injury. Ensign Davies was nursing a twisted arm sustained when one of the Jem'Hadar grabbed him, but he was functional for now. Rushing over to Cadet Pharell, V'thnela found her pulse to be steady, but her pupils were dilated in shock, and she has sustained at least a minor concussion and perhaps a broken rib or two. Tapping her commbadge, she called, "Transporter Room 2, this is Lieutenant V'thnela, commanding the away team aboard the Jem'Hadar vessel. I have an officer with minor, non-critical injuries, please lock onto Cadet Pharell's commbadge and beam her back aboard for treatment." "Acknowledged, Lieutenant V'thnela, this is Petty Officer Tivelli in Transporter Room 2, beam back of Cadet Pharell will begin immediately." V'thnela watched as Pharell's body dematerialized, then turned to her team. Just then Commander Harkleroad's communication came thru.

"Harkleroad to Lt. V'thenla.....lieutentant, my boarding parties have >failed to extract VAdm. Kbee at this point. I have just informed them >that they have five minutes to get her off of that ship. I am placing >you in full command of my officers on board the Jem'Hadar ship, there >are baording parties from the Victorius on the bridge, in the >engineering section, and somewhere else on that ship fighting >Jem'Hadar.....aid them in getting the admiral back to the Mariner. Once >Kbee is safe, and only when she is safe use that ship to bring havoc on >the Dominion forces that we are fighting!!!! Harkleroad....out."

*************************************************************************** "Acknowledged, Commander Harkleroad. My team and I are on our way to Engineering, we will link up with your teams shortly. V'thnela out." She looked at the members of her team, and surprised them with a small smile, pleased with how they had held together. "Move out." They headed down the corridor, Crewman Matthews and Ensign McKnight leading the way thru the smoke-filled corridors. Sirens blared, and lights flashed in time to them, but otherwise it was quiet. Too quiet. McKnight raised her phaser rifle, aiming, then lowered it and gestured to Matthews to cover her. Moving forward a few steps in the obscuring smoke, she then crouched down and nudged what appeared to be a Jem'Hadar body, then called over her shoulder, "Lieutenant, these appear to be dead, or in a coma. Jem'Hadar, four total, phaser wounds." Nodding to himself, Chief Timothies sent the team forward, and they saw the evidence with their own eyes. He looked at V'thnela, "Probably one of the teams from the Victorious, sir." She nodded in reply, "Let's move on." They half-ran down the corridor, eyes sharp and fingers on their triggers, and soon they could hear distinct sounds of fighting. Coming to a corner, McKnight went ahead again, peering around the corner, and then reporting back that there were Jem'Hadar fighting some Starfleet personnel at the next junction in the corridor, about 30 meters ahead. The team continued, and was soon behind some Jem'Hadar warriors attacking the other Federation away team. Fortunately, with the smoke, noise, and distraction of the fire-fight, the normally sharp Jem'Hadar warriors had failed to notice their team, giving them the edge of surprise. Chief Timothies signalled the rest of the team to each take aim at a Jem'Hadar, and wait for the signal. A few tense moments passed, then the Chief said, "Now!", and they opened up, hitting the five Jem'Hadar soldiers out with neat shots. Calling down the corridor, V'thnela said, "This is Lieutenant V'thnela from the USS Nazgul-A. My away team is here to assist in the rescue of Vice-Admiral Kbee, and also with the evacuation of the remaining away teams aboard this vessel."

"Where is that transporter Link, chief", shouted Capt. Gibney over the intercom, "We can't remain with our shields done for much longer." "Got it", Came the reply, "Initiating transport now." A inaudible sigh sounded across the bridge but "Lost it, she's on the move, we need a lock on that Vorta that the Nazgul wants before we can get her again, sir". Captain Gibney thumped his chair. Damn he thought. "Raise shields, Get me the Nazgul."
