A call came back, "Nice to see you, Lieutenant V'thnela. We could use the help." A Starfleet officer with Lieutenant Commander rank-pips came forward, two more officers behind him. "They had us pinned on our way to the brig, and my friend here has sustained a minor injury." He indicated a female Ensign, and McKnight moved forward and opened her tricorder, then nodded to V'thnela and the Victorious' Lieutenant Commander. "She's ok, the wound isn't bleeding, and she can function." The Lt. Cmdr nodded, then looked with interest at V'thnela team. "You brought quite a few personnel with you, Lieutenant. Two security NCO's and five Engineering staff, including yourself." She nodded, "I am very cautious around warriors as capable as the Jem'Hadar, sir." He smiled wryly, "Yes, I suppose I should have brought a couple more along as well. The brig is this way, we should get going, Lieutenant." The enlargened team headed down the corridor, fanning out at a brisk walk, and soon approached another junction. Two Jem'Hadar soldiers saw them, and rushed down the corridor, thinking to overwhelm them. Half-a-dozen phaser
shots took them out quickly enough, and they turned the corner to enter the detention center. Two more Jem'Hadar crouched there, and they opened fire, hitting the Petty Officer from the Victorious with several blasts, and grazing Matthews and Jacobson. Chief Timothies kept his head and took them both out with controlled bursts from his phaser rifle, reacting more quickly than anyone else in the team. McKnight rushed to the Petty Officers side and turned him over gently. "He's breathing. Just. But he's pretty bad." With a nod from her Lieutenant, she tapped her badge and called for a medical beam-out, directly to sickay. His body quickly dematerialized, and McKnight breathed a sigh of relief. Meanwhile everyone quickly moved into the detention center, then V'thnela checked Matthews and Jacobson for injuries, whilst the Lt Cmdr began searching the brig cells for the Vice Admiral. "Here she is", he
announced shortly. Timothies took up position at the entrance, and V'thnela prounouced both her crewman fit for duty. Jacobson moved over next to Timothies, and Davies and Jones moved to help the Lt Cmdr hotwire
the cell forcefield controls. Matthews grinned at her, "Well, I'm still around to bug you, Lieutenant." She frowned, but a slight smile made it's way onto her mouth despite her best efforts. "Go and do something useful with yourself, Matthews." He quickly made himself scare, studying the console in the center for internal sensor readings. The Lt Cmdr turned to her. "It's lucky you brought so many Engineers, Lieutenant. It would have proven more time-consuming to open the force field otherwise." She nodded, then asked "How much longer, Lieutenant Commander?". "About 2 minutes", came the response. Turning to McKnight, she saw she was attending to the injured Ensign from the Victorious, binding her arm with some webbing she had found in a medical kit nearby. Crewman Matthews caught her attention. "Lieutenant, according to the internal sensor grid, there are six Jem'Hadar heading this way. About two junctions away, port side." She caught Timothies eyes, and he nodded, turning his attention back to the corridor outside, raising his weapon to his shoulder. Jacobson took a deep breath, then did the same. V'thnela turned to Matthews. "Have you located the other two away teams, Crewman?" "I have, sir. One group is in Engineering, safely behind some forcefields, but the other is in the bridge, under heavy fire. They have
at least two men down." "Contact the team at the bridge, and ask permission to beam the injured personnel out to the Nazgul." A pause of a few seconds, then, "They aren't responding to hails, sir. There may be a communications-jamming field in operation, and there is definitely a forcefield up, preventing beam-out." V'thnela frowned, and one finger tapped the console in front of her, revealing her tension. "Contact the team in Engineering and tell them to hold their position. Ask their status." Nearly a minute passed while he carried out his orders, and he finally reported that the Victorious' away team in Engineering confirmed that they had sealed themselves in with forcefields, and were safe from attack by Jem'Hadar for now. They were attempting to gain control of the navigation and helm systems from there. V'thnela nodded in response, and told Matthews to tell them to continue their efforts. She returned to
closely watching her two engineers at work on the forcefield control. They had maybe a minute of work left. She tapped a few buttons on the console in front of her, then sighed slightly, her only sign of irritation at the annoying news the console unwittingly supplied her. Looking up, she caught the Lt Cmdr's eyes. "Lieutenant Commander, once you have the Vice Admiral out of there, we will have to leave the brig, and you can beam-out in the corridor. There is a material blocking beam-out in this holding area." He nodded, his face grave. "I feared as much." Just then Timothies and Jacobson opened fire, and V'thnela spun around as they ducked back inside cover to barely miss
being hit by return blasts. "Report." Timothies cast her a quick glance, his eyes filled with concern. "We only hit one. I don't think we had the element of surprise this time." Matthews piped up, "Lieutenant, there's a second party of five heading to this section from the starboard side." Timothis swore softly, and shook his head. "Lieutenant, if they bottle us up here, we can't beam out. We won't survive." V'thnela nodded, accepting the grim news, and locked eyes with the Chief, then admitted her lack of tactical training with her next question. "What do you think we should do, Chief?" He considered, casting his glance out to the corridor. "McKnight and that other Ensign should
take up position here, and Jacobson and I move over to the other side of this junction. We can provide better covering fire from there. But we must be out of here within a minute or two, or the siege will start for
real."

The Midway rocked from more disrupter blast's than really need be. The Battle bring was tense and smoky, alert Klaxon's going off......this was not going good. "Helm, Damage report" asked the Commodore The Ferengi helmsman did some system's check's and turned to reply " Sir, we have hull breaches now on deck's 18,15,12, and the main bridge". The Midway rocked again, Tok checked the system monitor's. "Sir, front shield's down to 25% and falling" shouted the helmsman over another blast that shot steam, and gas over the entire battle bridge. The Commodore turned to tactical, to face who he thought was a Lieutenant, but turned out to be a Cadet? "Um....cadet what is your name?" asked the commodore hastily "Cadet, Wilkins sir!" replied the cadet "Cadet Wilkens I'm about to show you something you will never learn at the Academy"replied the Commodore. He got up out of the command chair and moved to the back of the battle bridge to the tactical station. Looking at the control display panel he noticed that their was still some unused energy that could be rerouted to the forward shield's. "OK, Cadet here's what I need you to do" the commodore reached over the cadet's shoulder " reroute, life support from any deck's that don't have personnel on it " he tapped feverishly at the lcars display " see here, perfect, OK reroute deck's 10, 13 , 18, and the bridges life support to forward shield's, Computer...recalibrate forward shield's to Max output" "Calibration finished...forward shield's now at full output at 65%" the statico voice replied "Well " the Commodore thought to himself "this better work or it was going to be a short trip" The Midway rocked again...."Helm plot a course bearing 258 point 25, Max empulse....Engage!" spat the Commodore. "Aye Sir" hem replied. The Midway learched forward picking up speed, the got hit again.... "Damn it!" yelled the commodore, turning to the Chief "what's the status of the warp drive?" "Sir, warp engines are off line.....impulse at 32%, we take another hit like that las..." the Midway rocked again. The helmsman looked at his display, knowing what he was going to find..... " Sir, empulse engine's are off line.....Power transfer conduit to the port nacelle is ruptured, the nacelle is still intact but no power to it period" Just then the Commodores comm badge chirped, what came next, was not at all what he expected.... "Dr.. Kempec, to the Commodore...." "Go ahead, Doctor...." he replied, hopefully this was word on the Fleet Admiral's condition......... " Sir, it's the FAd....." in the backround you could here protest's of some sort, then he could hear a door swosh open " well never mind, he will not listen to me....I insisted that he not leave sick bay, but being a FAdm, he pulled his rank and insisted to head to the battle bridge.." as the good doctor spoke the bridge door's open to reveal the.....FAdm

As the FAdm got through the Doctors. head that he was no good to anyone in sick bay and must return to the Bridge, with a slight headache he looked over at what was left of the Battle Bridge, smoke pouring out of computer terminals and a Cadet at Tactical, here let me show you a few tricks Cadet, the Commodore Face just looked at the FAdm, I know what your going to say Tim, but if I lay in sick bay I am of no use to any one, I am not a old man you know, lets show the Dominion we have a few tricks up our sleeves, the Akagi wants revenge and she will have it, the FAdm looked at the tactical status of the Fleet and saw the Akagi being pulled away by the USS Nimitzs, he thought just a moment to see his Flagship being towed out of the Battle, this one is for you, the FAdm flipped the panel up on tactical, Commodore Tim moved to were the FAdm was, what are you doing sir this is my ship, Yes I know Commodore but let me show what Starfleet has been working on for the last few months on a new way to pull more power out of the system, Sir replied the Commodore thats never been tried what are you doing Commodore let me get this done I know what I am doing, is that bump on your head hurting your vision do you need to go to sick bay................ Just then the FAdm pulled a few more chips from one area then ran over to the side and opened the side panel pulled a few chips from there, the Commodore hot on the FAdm trail, the Commodore Spoke up again, ah.....Sir that is not a good idea, this is a Sovereign Class much different then the Galaxy, The FAdm Stood up do you want to save your ship and VAdm Kbee, Look at the Fleet, we are loosing this one and I don't plan to loose another fight to the Dominion, Just then another disrupter hit the Midway the computer yelled out, Warning Life support down to 87 % , Then the FAdm pulled a few more chips out and ran back to Tactical and put them in there and closed the panel, his hands ran across the LCARS panel pull power from all areas of the ship, Main power has been restored Commodore, you have full inpulse, Shields are at 97% and holding, I will have weapons on line in just a matter of secs. Communication, are there any other ships that we can call for help, No sir the last few ships made it here from DS9 but they are destroyed. The FAdm looked over the tactical status of the Fleet, GREAT just GREAT the FAdm said out loud, What, the Commodore replied, More Cardassian Ships are headed this way, What is this, What, the thee Commodore replied, I am not sure but sensors are picking up something, give me more power to the sensors, I am picking up a disruption in Subspace, What is it Cried out the Commodore, the FAdm started pushing the buttons, I believe its several cloaked ships approaching us at high Warp, the Commodore throught to himself, the Klingons.................The FAdm pulled the screen up to get a better look.......it can't be........What Sir...........I am counting 8 Romulan Warbirds decloaking around us......Open a Channel to the Lead Warbird the FAdm Said....Channel is open......The is FAdm Bailey .......When all of the sudden we see the screen fill up with a Romulan Admiral......I am Admiral Mendeck........Could you use some asstiance, Yes we could Admiral......Very well.......The Screen went blank, Warbirds started firing at ships.....Several Cardassian ships blew up on the spot, several the Jem'Hadar Warships started getting hard hits........ The FAdm turned back to the panel, Main phasers back online, Torpedoes online, Lets rock and roll guys................Its part time with the Romulans the FAdm said out loud with a happy tone to his voice......the FAdm locked onto one the ships that was punching hard on the Victorious full power to phasers and fired them, firing torpedoes.....Direct hit, the ship moved off with there shields down to 45 %....................... FAdm Cliff

" Sir, I must protest, this is a Sovereign class, not a galaxy" protested the weary Commodore, but the commodore's protest's were falling on deaf ear's. "Well" Timm thought to himself "what ever he's doing it's working, can't really argue at that.......", and now with the Romulan's helping out this could be over soon. The Commodore headed over to tactical to see how the battle was going. "Status report Cadet" asked the Commodore "Sir, all ship's in the fleet are taking heavy damage, but now that the Romulan's have showed up......" the Cadet paused for a second " Sir, I'm picking up a shuttle craft bearing- 024 mark 35". The Commodore looked at the display, and waved the FAdm. The FAdm headed to the tactical station along side the Commodore. "Sir we found what look's like a shuttle craft" then Timm paused " Cadet, scan for vital sign's" The Cadet feverishly went to work, riffling through three different type's of scan's just to make shure that's what he saw. "Sir, that shuttle appears to be on a self destruct cycle, their are 2 life sign's aboard sir...." the Cadet trailed off, and went back to tapping at the display running another scan one he knew the commodore would ask for next. " Cadet, scan that ship, are their any USC Officer's aboard that shuttle?" asked the Commodore " Way ahead of you sir, yes life sign's and DNA scan confirm the present's of Admiral Kbee and a Vorta" Timm stood their for a second taking in the information just given to him. The Commodore spun around to the Engineering station, just about knocking over the FAdm, in the process...."Sorry Sir" "Chief" Timm said looking at his Chief engineer "Can we beam them out?" "Yes sir, getting transporter lock, in 3,2,1. I have a lock!, transporting now....." replied Chief Sparehawk Both the Fleet Admiral and the Commodore breathed a sigh of relief, "Computer" the commodore asked is Adm. Kbee on board this ship? << Admiral Kbee is on Deck 10, transporter room 2>> The Commodore tapped his comm badge "Commodore Higgins to Adm Kbee, Welcome aboard the USS Midway, a security detachment is on the way to secure the Vorta, and I would suggest you head to sick bay...Higgins out"
***************************************************************************
As the FAdm saw what was going on and seeing things were beginning to turn toward a winning side for the Federation, the FAdm stopped for a moment to catch his breath, this is working, the FAdm walked over to the tactical station, Move this to here try putting more power into from this area, Shut down the replactors and put the power to the shields, the FAdm heard Commodore Higgins talking to VAdm Kbee, Now charge weapons to full power and lock target, Sir the cadet spoke up, they told us in the Academy not to put or phasers to full power as it could destroy the ship, the FAdm just looked at the Cadet and shock his head, this is the Field allot different then the Academy, as you can see we have losted over 4 ships in this battle and I am not going to loose any more is that clear, Yes sir replied the Cadet. All Ships this is the FAdm, the Romulans are here to help us work with them to finish this off, we can win this battle, the FAdm paused a moment to look at the status of the Nazgul and it was the oldest ships in the Fleet, I see the new shields are holding, keep pressing the fight, Commodore try putting the shields on the upper Em band, helped with the Borg and we have been testing that, give it a shoot to see if it works. ***************************************************************************
Kbee ignored the Commodore's advice about a trip to sick-bay. She said goodbye to the Vorta as he sat down at the side of the transporter. She walked out of the doors, and headed towards the nearest turbolift. She met the chief of security and asked him to easy on the Vorta.
And headed for the Bridge.
She stepped hover outside of the enterance for a moment knowing that neither the Fadm or The commodore would be happy. Damm the Betazoid side. It got annoying at times like this. Just what she needed in an already battle of the mind.
