This is the Wyrm Punk character creation guidelines
Wyrm Punk wants to help you create a character so that you can get your character approved, and add to the already enjoyable style of the game.
We will begin with Character Background History. In Wyrm Punk, your character must have a character background, or else we won’t even consider looking over the character. No background means no approval, there is no exception to this rule.
The Character Background History doesn’t have to be a book in length, but it must be readable, and interesting. We do not want flat characters in our game, we want characters that can help us pull the game along, and breath more life into it which each new character.
The Character Background must detail your character’s interests, High traits (any level 3 or higher), Disciplines, merits and Flaws, and finally Backgrounds. You must give all of your backgrounds details on what they are, and what they do, and how you got them. (for example: If you chose Contacts, you would need to give Wyrm Punk the Contact’s name, a brief over of their history involving your character, and make it so that they can be destroyed, or grow stronger. Finally it must be mentioned what the contact does for you.)
The next aspect that I wish to address is the trait level in our game. We here at Wyrm Punk want reasonable power levels of the characters. We are not placing any restrictions upon attributes, except for the trait max of five, but for abilities, a 3 is considered High.
Be sure to stray away from system tweaking your characters, characters that are built for insane dice pools involved with systematic effects over role-playing will not be approved.
For example, if John comes to us and submits his character ‘Low Mien’, has a character background and all the need parts to be approved, but he has a Dexterity of 5, and a brawl of 3, dodge of 3, firearms of 3, and a melee of 2, then that character will not be approved.
However, if you submitted a character that had a boat building of 4, and it was detailed in your character story, then it would most likely be approved. We here at Wyrm Punk feel that the Skill of Boat Building is better for the game than someone who is a ‘Super Ninja’.
On a final note with your character creation, be sure to keep in mind the age of the character, and his background. A 14 year old, no matter what kind of education wouldn’t have academics of 5. He may have an intelligence of 5, but that is another matter.
Yet a Camarilla Kindred who has existed for well over a century would have more potential to have academics of 5.
