I'm not going to hold back. I'm going to give this game a 10. The main character, Squall, falls in love with Roina, a young magic caster who is controlled by the evil sorceress. You can ride the Chocobo around places, as usual. They also have various viehicals to drive around in, which is neat. You could put a Chocobo on a Pocketstation and keep it like a virtual pet, but Pocketstation never came out in the USA. The whole feel to this game, the atmosphere, is great. The machines, and the great music that comes with it. I really enjoyed what the mastermind did this time, especially in some of the Orchestrations in Dollet and Timber. In this game, you must equip "GFs" No, not girlfriends, but "Guardian Forces" which you summon, and can learn different moves. My favorite, Cactar, can spring out of the ground in an Amazing FMV and shoot the attack "1000 Needles" causing 1000 damage. Of course you must defeat most of the enemies before they join you, which isn't always an easy task. You can "card" enemies, turning them into cards so that you can join the huge card minigame. Beating the card champion gives you great rare items. On top of that, the amazing cinemas and awesome characters push it through. A solid game, almost as good as FFIX. Best game of the year.
