Basilisk
The
basilisk is an extremely poisonous creature, usually representing sin or absolute
evil. There are three main types of the basilisk, all three of which can kill
with only a glance, and have poisonous breath. A weasel and a rooster are the
only creatures that can stand up to a basilisk... and win. If this creature
sees its own reflection in a mirror, it will die from fear and horror. Another
name for the basilisk is the cockatrix.
