In some ways, Anubis is similiar to the Greek Cerberus. A divine creature with the head of a dog, Anubis is the Egyptian god who is responsible for guarding the underworld and seeing souls safely to their final resting place. He leads the deceased first to the place where their heart is weighed to judge their good deeds and their bad... and then their afterlife is decided.
