Leadership

Knights of the Inner Circle is made up of one (1) Guildmistress (Lady Sparkles) and a High Council (see the High Council page for the High Council members) as its governing body. This council meets often and corresponds daily about various topics that need to be addressed. For a measure to pass it must have the backing of the majority of the council, in which the Guildmistress.

Admittance

Prospective members MUST register to the Forums and are strongly encouraged to have ICQ. Without ICQ a member would miss out on many announcements and hunt destinations, but efforts are made to post that information on the forum. If you do not have ICQ, and are unreachable through the forum pm's, then you may be removed.

Once contact is made the recruit will put put onto the TIC Stone which is the temporary guild. The recruit is encouraged to participate in events and try to be as active as possible this could take any where from a few days to a few weeks. The choice is yours.

"The recruit must, at some time prior to being accepted on the stone, register a forum name, read these guild rules, and reply stating the name of his/her character. This is saying to us that you have read and accept the rules. Direct questions to a Council member or the GM personally."

Dismissal

A member or recruit of The Knights of the Inner Circle may be dismissed for violating any of the following laws:

  • No member will initiate a Player vs. Player battle with another member without consent or Player Kill (PK) a fellow member (see below).
  • No member steal from another member, including looting a corpse (decayed or otherwise) without returning the looted items.
  • All members will abide by the decisions of the Guildmistress and High Council as long as those decisions are within the guild laws.
  • No member shall exhibit conduct that is not in accordance with the spirit of the guild charter.

Any High Council member can call for a vote upon dismissal of any member. Upon a call for dismissal vote, the member is removed from I*C until the actual vote can be taken (an emergency vote will be called as not to delay this process). Failure of majority vote to dismiss the member will allow the member (if he / she so chooses) to rejoin I*C at the point they were when dropped from the roster (a full-time member will rejoin as a full-time member). This policy is in place to try and eliminate disgruntled members who are up for a dismissal vote from Player-Killing a fellow I*C member. If a violation of any of these laws is witnessed by another member, it is the witnessing member's duty to report the action to any High Council member. Failure to do so will lead to punishment including a possible dismissal from the guild.

    Warnings

Warnings may be given by high ranking officers for various infractions such as repeatedly running off from the group when on a hunt, insubordination, attacking without consent, etc. After giving a warning, a copy will be sent to the Guildmistress, and the Guildmistress will send the warned member this warning as well. This is to ensure that the member has received the warning and understands its implications. After the third warning the member will be dismissed.

    Hunts

The Knights of the Inner Circle has quests run by Lord Cydric where we leave from the Guild House after every meeting. All members are encouraged to volunteer to lead a hunt if they so desire. If the leading member is inexperienced or of lower rank, help will be provided.

More often than not our quests involve a dungeon crawl. The destination of that day's quest will be messaged to members by ICQ earlier that day. We meet at the Guild House before after the guild meeting and party up. Usually we have about 5 - 6 per party divided up between the warriors and mages we have present. We then gate to the destination.

During the quest loot that is obtained from the monsters is collected by the designated looters (usually determined before we leave). Designated looters are voluntary. If you are asked to loot, you are expected to turn in the loot after the hunt so that it can be divided. If you are not a designated looter, DO NOT take ANYTHING from any corpse, do not even bother to look in the corpses. If you are found to be looting, then your recruiting period is over. There is no tolerance on this rule. You will get your fair share when the hunt is over. After the quest is over we go back to the Guild House, collect all the loot, and determine how much each person gets. Each person has the choice of collecting his / her share or putting it into the guild fund. Magic weapons that are collected will be passed out to the participants that returned to the guild house in this order: First, characters that were present on the hunt that use that class of weapon have first options. Then it goes on to everyone present. If more than one person wants an item, we will either roll dice for it, or the hunt leader will choose a number between 1 and 100, inclusive, and each person will get one guess--the closest guess winning the item.

    Disputes

Disputes between members are to be brought to a High Council member.  That member and the rest of the High Council will do everything they can to resolve the issue fairly and promptly.

    Guild Funds

Guild funds are used to purchase special items for prizes and to give out cash prizes for tournaments and contests. It is typical that the winner of a tournament or contest wins 100-200k.

    Looting

In your travels if you should come across a corpse (decayed or not) wait by the body for a reasonable length of time to prevent looting by others. If the body decays, pick up the items and give the victim time to return and collect his / her possessions. Not only will this reflect well upon yourself, but will reflect well on the guild as a whole. If it is brought to the attention of the High Council you have acquired the reputation as a looter, we will review your membership status. No member steal from another member, including looting a corpse (decayed or otherwise) without returning the looted items.

    Tags

I*C members are required to have their guild abbreviation displayed at all times. If you are traveling without displaying tags, you may be attacked.

    Player vs. Player Activities

We engage in lots of Player vs. Player (PvP) and PvP related activities. PvP is always consensual in this guild. Do not initiate PvP with another member unless you have prior consent. If someone has initiated PvP with you, then first tell them to stop. If they continue, get out of the area for a brief period of time, and report the incident to a High Council member or the Guildmistress. If you choose to fight back, then that will be considered your consent to PvP, as it is very difficult to determine who initiated the fight or who's "fault" it is when both parties are slinging spells at one another.

**If you are a victim of any other member breaking the rules or you witness someone violating the rules report it to a HC or the GM. Let us know who it was, what was done, and anything else that is relevant. You can report a problem to us regardless of your rank or the rank of the offender, and we will not hold it against you in any way.**

    Titles

All members have a rank within the guild. Appointments / promotions are made by the Guildmistress based upon trust in looting / running events, demonstrating leadership (by leading events, training newer players, easing confusion during events), and general attitude.

High Council (HC) - These are the governing members of the guild. We do not change policy or rules without their approval. They help lead hunts and events. They also have to power to remove any member from the guild if they think it is necessary. This removal will then be voted on and the removed member will be given a chance to speak if he requests it. Any problem a member has can be handled by a HC member.
