This is a story about the struggle between good and evil. A bit cliched, true, but in this RP we deal with not only the good and evil as represented by individuals, but the good and evil within their own hearts and minds; their egos, pride, beliefs.. all meshed together without consideration of the consequences. When people from multiple words suddenly find themselves thrown together in a strange land with riddling archangels and unfamiliar languages, it will be a true test of their fortitude and willingness to adapt. Prejudice, pain, dispair, injustice, betrayal, murder, torture, fate, and love all play a part in this story, but it is up to the individuals to decide what role they'll play.
In Ocarina of Time, you can use the ocarina to warp from temple to temple by playing the song corresponding to that temple (duh, lol). Well, when you warp to that temple, you appear on a sort of dias, that flat circular bit of floor with the triforce symbol on it. Well, in this story the diases (which is what I'm going to call them) are still there, but the ocarina has been lost to history (and won't be a part of this story, unless I change my mind later). On top of each dias, an enormous gate has been constructed (looking very much like the gate in the movie Stargate, if you've seen it - I'm going to draw a picture of one of the gates and I'll put it in the photos section), and each gate is of a different element (fire, water, ice, storm, etc..). Each has an appearance corresponding to its element. The gates were created by the One in order to bring people from other worlds to Hyrule. The evil about to be unleashed upon Hyrule is so great, that no one already present is capable of defeating it alone, so the gates are a means to bring more powerful beings to help. Well, depending on the gate's element, a person with a corresponding elemental power (or other factors, if your character has no magick) will be brought into Hyrule through a gate. None of these people know what has happened to them, where they are, or why they were brought to Hyrule, and some of them may even be reluctant, if not pissed off about it all, to help when they do realize why they were ripped from their homeworlds. The most important aspect of this RP's story is going to be "getting to know the characters and the land they now find themselves in", having them interact and explore Hyrule. They'll go on many adventures seemingly unrelated to the reasons they were brought here, and finally when the truth is revealed as to the gates' purpose and their fate, many might rebel. It will be soon after that the "great evil" emerges, and for our characters it will be "put up or shut up". They can chose to help fight, chose to join the side of evil, or do nothing at all. Now, another thing about the gates: Eventually it will be discovered that through the gates, one can warp to other gates, and therefore travel faster. You can also use the gates to warp directly into the various temples, but only the gate corresponding to a temple's element can warp into that temple (i.e the Fire Gate can only warp you into the Fire Temple, but it may also warp you to any of the other gates). I have yet to decide what purpose the temples will serve, but I have ideas forming. Eventually a gate will emerge that will be the portal for the "great evil" to come to Hyrule through. This evil could be Ganondorf, having found a way to reach the gate from the Sacred Realm, or it could another being entirely. But, we won't get to that part for a long time. I want this RP to be a sort of big adventure, where characters dont have to always be in interaction with one another; where their players can develope them through writing their thoughts and actions while they explore the world around them. The One has sent an observer to Hyrule to serve as his physical manifestation. He is meant to observe and test the Chosen to see if they're worthy of the title and if they're capable of wielding a Legendary Weapon. If not, it is his job to remove the individual from this plane of existance. This is being sent by the One is Temazorela, a fallen archangel who would have spent eternity on the planes of insantity had the One not shown him mercy by summoning him to Hyrule. But this angel of torture has plans of his own, unbeknownst to the One, and in the end it is unclear if he really means to help the side of good, or if he plans to manipulate the heros (your characters, and mine) to the side of the "great evil". Temozarela is a wild card, and his true purpose won't be revealed until later. |
