Final Fantasy X Review
Final Fantasy X
I'm going to be very straightforward here: I'm an extremely hard reviewer. If you really like this game and you see something in here that you completely disagree with, don't get upset or feel awkward when playing your cherished game. The controversial world of gaming is full of differing opinions, and you have a right to your own. The following is riddled with my mostly facts from the game and has very few opinions within the total text.
This entire page contains several SPOILERS. Consider yourself warned.
Content : 10/10
Many people were disappointed with the outcome of the game. I, for one, am absolutely pleased! There’s not always a happily every after. Romantic tragedy is the best.
Everything in the game was so nicely planned! Just about everything foreshadows something that happens later on! That takes a lot of hard work. It didn’t go unnoticed.
The characters are likeable, except for the semi-annoying Rikku.
Final Fantasy X’s plot was great.
Sound : 9.1/10
Voice Actors. Period.
Great voice actors, too. James Arnold Taylor (hilarious comedian), Hedy Burress (extremely talented actress), Gregg Berger (nice, smooth voice), Paula Tiso (The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy, anyone?), John DiMaggio (Futurama: Bender, Teen Titans: some slave, Kim Possible: Dr. Drakken), Tara Strong (Timmy Turner, Bubbles, Dil Pickles, and many more. Massively talented woman), Quinton Flynn (Orphen, Arc The Lad), Sherri Lynn (Sasami from Tenchi, Mar from Trigun) and many more talented voice actors.
Yuna’s voice, however, faltered a lot. I can’t really blame Square for it, though. They had delayed the game’s release already and all of the fans were whining and complaining that they wanted it already. Fearing that they would lose fans and customers, Square released it anyway. Gamers still complain! Oh, come on. You want it to be perfect? Have patience!
Oh, yeah. People complain about Tidus’ voice. He was a happy, carefree guy, and the “squeaks” just emphasized his emotions. I’m sure that others would complain if they couldn’t tell the emotions he was going through, too. You just can’t please everybody, which is understandable and even pleasing to Square associates themselves.
Battle sounds were great, too.
Music. Ah, music. The music was pretty good. Suteki Da Ne was so beautiful, but--just like Melodies of Life--was really used too much. The other songs weren't that memorable, either. It was all right.
Graphics : 10/10
Beautiful. Absolutely beautiful. When I first started playing, I couldn’t tell the difference between the normal graphics and the FMVs. Then I realized that Tidus looked American in the normal graphics but looked Asian in the FMVs. =)
Character design was wonderful. Yuna’s, Lulu’s, and Auron’s outfits are so cool.
Battle : 9.9/10
Final Fantasy X‘s battles were so cool! I never got tired of battling!
Sometimes, though, the battles were REALLY laggy, and I found myself stupidly smacking the controller.
Other than that, the battles were great.
Skill Factor : 8.5/10
The game wasn’t too hard. I got Game Over once or twice, though.
The battles were sometimes so long! I enjoyed them. =)
Being able to switch characters in and out made the battles much easier.
The game wasn’t hard, but it wasn’t easy, either.
Overall : 9.5/10 (Not an average of the previous scores)
I was extremely pleased with the outcome of Final Fantasy X . The game had a few flaws, but nothing that can be easily overlooked. A great title.
I may add more later.
