| Hello troops, General Gavin here. Well, it looks official. Official PS Magazine announced that FFXI will come to the US this fall. Not so bad. Now I have plenty of time to play FFX and finally finish all those RPGs I have been working on. Summer would have been nice, but it was doubtful. I am just thankful we are getting it at all after everyone's griping about it being a MMORPG. Still sounds good to me. Well I have a favor to ask of you all. I would like all of you to tell me what race you plan to be (Hume, Tal Tal, or Elvaan) and what your beginning class will be (warrior, monk, thief, white mage, black mage, or red mage). This all just what you plan to be. You can change your mind when ever you want. I want this info so I can get an idea of what kind of classes we have and what ones we might need more of. For the record, I plan to be a Hume Warrior (hopefully a black knight some day). If this info can be posted on the site once it is all gathered Cecil, that would be great. My main concern is that I have read that each race will start in it's respective town, so we won't all be in the same place in the beginning, and certain races will be restricted from certain regions as well. I guess I will try to figure something out as more info becomes available. Does anyone know if you can own houses in FFXI, like in Ultima Online? If so, we could set up an HQ is each nation or something and some how make a teleport pad that links them all together if possible. I wish I had more info on the game. Someone let me know if they find anything out. I am coming up with the ranks now, so once I have them all compiled I will give out a rank to everyone, and later we can make a system for advancing in rank once the game is out. Also, does any want a theme song for our website? The Red Baron song from FFIV would sound cool, or that one from FFVI that is played when Wedge, Biggs, and Terra are marching towards Narshe in the opening credits. Just a thought. Hello everyone, this is the General. Sorry for my absence from the web for awhile, I have been busy, and I see the a lot has happened since. First off, most of you will be receiving this twice because I lost track of who was a member of the yahoo group or not. Second, make sure you spell Phoenix correctly. We have it on the website as PHEONIX. The correct spelling is PHOENIX, sorry about that. Next, I have decided to change my character name. I got tired of Marcus de la Honradez; it sounded corny compared to everyone else's. My new name is Gavin Darknight (kind of a play on words). Sorry for the inconvenience. My founder title will be "Phoenix's Fire." Everyone needs to thank Cecil for such a great job with the website, keep up the good work. I would also like to welcome all of the new recruits to the team. Thank you all for joining. If any of you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to ask me. In a recent announcement, Square revealed its plans to offer some of its PlayOnline services free of charge. The free services include email, chat, and other such utilities. This does not, however, cover for game play; patrons who wish to play Final Fantasy XI or the Tetra Master card game online will be required to pay a fee. The service will be ready for launch in Japan this spring. PlayOnline has been in development for over two years, and Square currently plans to host several online titles on the service. Enix and Namco also developed a partnership with Square allowing the companies to host online games on PlayOnline. The services will likely be available in North America in late 2002.

Anyways, everyone who doesn't have a character name, please send one in (see web site for details). Also, send in all of those good FFXI info sites to the webmaster so he can add them to the links page. I am also in the works of deciding the ranks for the army. My father was in the Air Force for many years, which makes me an "Army Brat," so I think I am knowledgeable enough on the subject. My idea would be that all founding fathers start as officers (General, Colonel, Lieutenant, etc) and everyone else will start as enlisted (example: Sergeant) and later be given the opportunity to become an officer. I would also like to design a list of rules and regulations for the "Law and Order" side of things. I would like to be able to do a live chat with all of the founding fathers soon so that we can attend to these matters more easily. If anyone has any ideas as to how we may go about this, please let me know. For those of you with AIM, my screen name is thepinsweeper. For most of you, I will probably be online late at night because in Alaska, we are four hours behind the east coast, one hour behind the pacific. I can get on earlier if need be, however. Last of all, I would like to compile a list of everyone's planned character class (white mage, knight, ninja, etc.) Use classes that you have seen in past FF games for now. I will use this list to get an idea of what skills we will have available during the game and what classes we will need more of, so please send this info to me soon, thanks. Hello everyone, General Marcus here. Well, it has been a while since the last newsletter, but I have been really busy with Christmas and FFX of course (just saying that makes me want to play it). You practically have to pry me away from the TV with a crowbar when I am playing FFX. I can't wait until FFXI and the wait is getting shorter. I am still not sure of an exact release date, but it should be sometime this summer. Right now I think everyone should look for info on FFXI. If you find a website or article or anything that gives us more info on the game, please send a link to the entire group. I have seen a little preview of FFXI in Official PS Magazine (just a screenshot), but they hinted that a full fledged preview is on the way. The official team colors are red and black, if you didn't know. I haven't received any logos yet, so please, if you have an idea for a team logo, send it to me ASAP. Also, the following people need to create a character name, first and last (these are screen names from playonline):

If you guys did make character names, sorry I lost them, so please send them in again. This will be a full fledged army, with officers, enlistees, ranks, etc. Actually, since there will be no Gov't funding, we will be more like a mercenary group. I would also like to have a set of rules and regulations for the group, such as how to punish deserters (not that I think any of you will go AWOL, but those of you who play UO and EQ know how online games are) how each member will receive their wages and the like. Hello troops, this is General Marcus. Well it has been decided; the new team name is the Phoenix Militia (just "Phoenix" for short). Team colors are still in deadlock. The choices are blue and black, or red and black. Since the founding fathers are in deadlock, I WOULD LIKE EVERYONE TO VOTE ON THIS. PLEASE PICK ONE OF THE FOLLOWING:

Hey people. General Marcus de la Honradez (Spanish for "of the honor," pronounced "own-ra-deth"). What do you think? Sounds catchy, but that is just me. There is a position open in 12 founding fathers. Here is a list of the current 11 founders:

Those people have until Friday night to respond and confirm that they want to be a founding father. If you don't respond or wish not to be a founding father, your position will be dropped and the position will be up for grabs. The current position will be first come, first serve. If you want to be the 12th founding father, email me ASAP. The first person to respond will get the spot. It is essential to fill the 12 positions. The 12 founders will be the people who vote on the big issues, like team name, team colors, etc. I would like to vote on a team name, team colors, and what instant message system we should all use (AOL or MSN) by the end of this weekend, so all nominations for team names and team colors need to be into me before Friday. I will send a "ballot" to the 12 founders on Friday and the votes must be in by Sunday. This will only be if I have a complete list of all 12 founding fathers, so please get those confirmations in ASAP. Thanks you for all the responses about knowing how to make websites. Hey people, it's me, General Marcus again, and I have some really exciting news. First off, I reserved a copy of FFX last night at Babagge's/Software ect. and the release date for those who reserve a copy is Dec. 18th, no joke. I think this is the stealth before Christmas release that has been rumored about. I am so excited. Hurry up and reserve it soon you guys. Next, we have an official website thanks to Cecil Starlin. He has done a great job so far, but it is still in the rough draft stage. Be sure to check it out:

Mine is Marcus (last name unsure) and my class will be black knight. Cecil's class will be a paladin. Please email your names and classes to me and Cecil, so I may have a personal record and so they can be added to the member's page of the website. When you check out the website, check the founder's page and see if your name is listed. If so, please let us know if you are up for the job or not. The founder's are the only members who get to vote on major decisions, like team name, logo, etc. We will be voting on a team name starting next friday, until sunday. I have had many ideas for team names. A list of possible team names will be either email or posted at the website. I also want to vote on team colors at the same time. Logos will be voted on once team names and colors have been chosen. Cecil, I have one request. Is there anyway to set up a message board on the site? That would be great if it could be done. Last note, I have had several request for instant message user names. If you have AOL instant messenger, please email me and Cecil. If you don't please try to get it. How's it going people. I am going to go by Marcus from now on. There is plenty of business to take care of. I have already had one volunteer to make the website. I will let you know when it is up and running. When the website is up, this newsletter will be posted there. If you haven't chosen a character name, please do so. So far the names I have received are Sirius, Mr. Ozer, Geist, and Biggs. You might want to give your characters last names as well. Next order of business, team name, color, and logo. I have had one suggestion for a team name, MDS (most dangerous soldier). I need more, so that I can take a vote. I just now thought one up...The T.O.W.E.R. (Taking on the World's Evil with Righteousness). May sound a little corny, but what do you guys think? We also need to think up some team colors. The suggestions I have had are red/black, blue/black, and purple/black. If you have any more ideas, give them to me. I want to try and take a vote on these issues with in a week or so. We also need a team logo. Keep in mind what you ant for a team name when you think up a logo. That is all for now. Good Luck!

| Hello again people and hello for the first time all you new people. Wow this group is growing faster than I thought it would! I think there are 10 members now, so I am ready to make this thing official. If there is any one out there who is willing to make a website for the group (preferably a free one) please let me know, so that the newsletter can be posted on the site. So how are the character names going? For all you new members, everyone needs to come up with a name for there FFXI character. Mine will be Marcus for the time being. We also need a team name! If you can think of a good one, please email me! Examples of army names from other Final Fantasy games are SOLDIER (FF7), SEED (FF8), and Deep Eyes (FFmovie). These names are very cool and I would like to continue the tradition. Another topic I would like to discuss is the idea of a dress code, that way other people playing the game will recognize us as members of this faction. Just a thought. Kind of like how the soldiers in FF6 wore brown, the soldiers in FF7 wore blue, and the SEEDs in FF8 wore black. Or maybe we could design a symbol that everyone could add to there character that would signify that they are members of this team. Please let me know what you think.
