Cadwillow's Academy of Magic was started in the year 1692, but didn't teach magic at the time. It's located in Salem, Massachusetts, and at the time it was a refuge for prosecuted witches during the witch trials. Its four houses, Pudeator, Stoughton, Gedney, and Wardwell, were named after both the judges and those hung on September 22, 1692 after being found. Gedney and Stoughton are generally dark houses, because they were named after the head judge of the trials (William Stoughton) and an associate judge (Bartholomew Gedney) in an act of rage. Ann Pudeator lived in what is now the Pudeator Common Room, and headed that house. As did Samuel Wardwell, which is what Wardwell Common Room is, of course, named for. Those houses tend to be associated with more beneficial people.
PLEASE KEEP IN MIND THAT THIS INFORMATION IS NOT REAL! CADWILLOW'S IS, IN FACT, FAKE, BUT THESE PEOPLE DID ACTUALLY EXIST.
