Chapter 1; The Beginning
(Quincy The Great)

In a long forgotten dwarven village in the North-East, a bit South of a mountain where mythrill was mined, and a few miles West from cliffs overlooking an inlet sea, was born a mighty dwarf, in the line of Quintark. The family was of a line that had a secret fighting method, passed on every 7th generation, to the most worthy warrior of the clan, but it was NOT his generation to receive it. Having came out of a great dwarven-elven war, there was still much hostility between the two races and thus a hinderance of this great dwarf was that of being of a family a bit taller than most dwarvs and with hints of pointedness in the ears of those of his clan. Having fought bravely in the war though, none questioned his bloodline; at least not to his face. This dwarf, a legend for his incredible strength, was Quincy The Great. It was said that he could easily lift an 800lb cart and throw it like a toy. Such was his strength that he could press a full 1600lbs. or more over his head. It is said that he could twist solid stones, as big as dogs, in half with his bare hands. ((1st ever character I made, in 1983 if rolled max 3X6s on 3d6 normal dice, bonus was just rolling again. By incredible luck, I had rolled max 18, 3 times! And whatever got on a 4th roll; using the same & only dice as used in the regular game. So thus normal. The mega stat was put to strength, thus a minimum 57str with normal max being 18, old old rules)). The family also had one great treasure, a magic weapon that had the unusual power of being able to cut into the spirit realm or other dimensions, as well as being effective against such non-corporial things as ghosts & other beings not fully physical or existing in the physical realm. Being not fully in the physical realm itsself, it had "not" its own set shape but was the shape of the current true owner's spirit idea of the weapon. To most, it had been either some form of hammer, battle-axe or sword suiting the ideals of the wielder. Keyed to the Quintar family-clan only, it was this that was passed on from father to son as the family's treasure.

Quincy The Great had two sons, one young dwarf and his family in the same village as Quincy The Great, and the warrior-blacksmith son who had moved to the mountain village of Bloodrock to seek work. With his own family now taken care of and the war now over, Quincy The Great set out to seek adventure in quests and travels, in what all thought would surely be a long and glorious career. With the Quintark Family Spirit-Weapon in the form of a bastardsword for him; also with a staff, longbow, normal arrows and having bought 3 magic silver arrows supposedly guaranteed to destroy undead, he set out. Near by, just 3 miles East from his village, was the local haunted castle, as it were or so-called; seemingly nothing. A small, round building at the base of a dark hill overlooking the inlet sea beyond. Known as the "Little Black Castle", it was actually dark grey with blackish dirt covering it. It seemed about a 20' diameter, a circular building with plated cone roof of dark greenishblue-black. Two strange double-doors coming to a point at the top, with no handles on the outside, were the only entrance. All who had came there to explor inside had never returned. Children would brave to touch it on dares but never enter or go there at night. It radiated a sense of evil and dread. Thinking, surely such a small place though couldn't be too difficult a challenge for one of such great strength and accomplishment as himself, Quincy The Great!; He went alone, trusting in his phenominal strength and resoursefullness. What did he find there? What was his fate? For that, ye will have to read the next part of the account, as the history continues. :-)
