Inspired by the Improved Ilyich and Solaufein Romance MODs, I set out to make one
of my own despite knowing absolutely nothing about writing scripts, making new areas,
creatures, items, etc. I learned about the WeiDu and Near Infinity utilities and
their extensive support forums and so, I got to work.

I found two areas (among dozens) in need of some improvement in terms of its level
of difficulty. And so, the Azengaard Tactical Encounter MOD was born.

This pack basically contains two new tactical encounters for the Shadows of Amn
part of the game but it REQUIRES you to have Throne of Bhaal installed.
Included are the following:

1. Azengaard Tactical Encounter
* belonging to a mysterious faction known as the Time Guardians, Azengaard
has a challenge for the child of Bhaal... one that he or she might not survive
* adds a new dimension to the Irenicus dungeon (you still have to find it, though)
* reminisces past events and locations that players might enjoy reliving
and foreshadows a future event
* utilizes a previously "unused" area

2. Improved Trademeet Crypt Encounter
* this adventure always seemed to lack enough of a challenge; as with the
reason behind the conception of the Improved Ilyich MOD "to make
Chateau Irenicus more interesting for we experienced players...", this
should make the Trademeet Crypt Encounter more interesting instead of
squaring off with a bunch of pathetic monsters who protect the artifact
level Alibakkar-Lurraxol amulet
* adds a new small crypt chamber with a handful of monsters and significantly
strengthens the ones in the inner chamber




BG2:SoA is REQUIRED. ToB is REQUIRED. The Azengaard Tactical Encounter MOD will
install correctly over (or without) any other WeiDU mods.

Unzip the main ZIP file into your BGII main directory. This is normally:
C:\Program Files\Black Isle\BGII - SoA\

Run (click on) "Setup-AzenMOD.exe"

You *do* need to start a new game to take advantage of the Azengaard Tactical
Encounter MOD. That's the point.

NOTE: This pack was made possible by Weimer's outstanding WeiDU v95.
As I am still an amateur, there may be a lot of mistakes on this MOD and
I am very much open to comments and suggestions on how to improve and/or
correct its contents.
