Void History
In the beginning, the realm was without form, and was Void. Darkness was upon the face of the deep. Order became imposed over the Darkness, and form was pressed upon the Void. Races began to appear within the realm, and the Void was pushed into antiquity, and was forgotten.
Newer races then developed, waging war upon the peaceful denizens of the realm. Trolls appeared overnight, a vast plague upon all houses. The original groups blamed one another for the trolls. Small battles escalated into terrible but secret wars. Lies took over, and truth was lost. Freedom disappeared in the setting sun, allowing the cruel and the ruthless to subjugate others, and admitted the holding of slaves. When the light waned, Darkness returned.
The demilich, Darkness, returned to the realm from his astral sanctuary, an ebony fortress compressed from the very atoms of nothingness. He came slowly and carefully into the lawless realm, drawn to the few sources of light amid the chaos. The elemental goddesses Flame and Ariel served as guides to Darkness, teaching him to combat this tide of untrust and perversion. Darkness found a handful of valiant companions, but the tiny band of warriors was not enough. Darkness went back to the Void.
Revoking his status as both a demigod and a demilich, Darkness returned from the Void once more. This time, he brought forth the noble fighters of the Void. His daughter, princess Shenzi, the banshee, was the first to follow. Then came his wife, WhimsicalDesire, the tempting erinyes devil. A pair of delinquent angels, along with a handful of demonic killers, all to fight the trolls and restore order and freedom to the realm.
The Void alone cannot restore the order which has been lost to the realm. It is a dire struggle which the Void warriors fight, a battle against vice and depravity. They fight to honor the freedom which all living things should be given, and to protect the noble idea of honesty. Lies and disloyalty are not tolerated, and Void fighters strike down the impudent in an act to purify the corrupted realm.
The fight is joined, and there is no middle ground. All new comers must choose a side. The Void fights for sanity, order, and to gain a hand-hold on the notion of peace. The opposition, the chaos, the Hellraisers, seeks to develop anarchy, to overthrow established rules and traditions. The Hellraisers wage a subvert war to undermine the Void, to create an imbalance in the powers of the realm. The Void works to maintain a balance, and to promote free thought.
And now, the Void is reunited with itself. After Darkness left the group for some soul searching, he has returned, reinvigorated. With him comes Arielcri, the only vampire in the history of the clan. WhimsicalDesire is no longer of the Void, having foresaken the clan for a more personal path.
A final irony has struck the Realm. The Void is one of a very few clans remaining from the Great Purge, when the strength of each group was tested. The Void lives on, in a huge part to Fallen Angel, who was granted the position of General, and also to Shenzi, who is still withdrawn over the failures of her adoptive mother. But in the end, the Void carries on, and the war still wages.
