Final Fantasy VII

Final Fantasy VII is the first of the newest generation of FF games. It is a classic, and is considered by most to be the best RPG of all times. Squaresoft set the marker that all RPGs must follow in order to compete with FFVII.
In FFVII, you are Cloud Strife. You are a Ex-Soldier of the ShinRa company. ShinRa is an evil super-corporation that basically controls the world. They mine the planet's life force in order to create energy. You are now a mercenary, and join up with Avalanche, a terrorist group that plans to stop ShinRa. The story moves to a totally different line when Cloud's old mentor, Sephiroth, decides he is not human, but a member of the Cetra, or Ancients. ShinRa is hunting down the last of the Ancients, because they know the way to unleash all of the planet's life force, thus making ShinRa incredibly rich and powerful overnight. Sephiroth will not tolerate his race being used, so he decides to destroy the world by summoning a giant meteor. Avalanche soon decides to help Cloud to stop Sephiroth, and save the world from destruction.
FFVII features incredible FMV's and a deep, involving plot. It is simply an incredible game. If you have a PSX, and do not own this game, you need too. Period.
