A Tunnels and Trolls® play-by-post adventure run by shindorim7
Speaking of worms, Shipy had one on his stomach after Oblique Streams ended. If the Talo Tattoo Worms hate Shipy (and or Hobbits in general) so much, as was discovered in Pirate Blade of Rhanian when Taran's worm went all freakshow whenever getting close to Shipy, why didn't Shipy try to kill himself? And where was Shipy's worm in that adventure anyway?
In the next Jax'n'Taran adventure Dangerous Creations, it is revealed that the Orcs' marks are Talo Tattoo Worms. Nothing is revealed about Shipy's (or Ruth's, or Michael's) marks in their subsequent IC appearances.
But suppose Shipy's mark was in fact a Talo Tattoo Worm. If we assume, as Taran does, that Shipy's Talo Tattoo Worm had a visceral hatred of Shipy, then it is not far-fetched to conclude that such a worm would have left Shipy for another host ASAP. Killing the host would not be an option to the symbiont while it was attached. However, after it switched hosts, Shipy would've been fair game! D'oh!
But we really don't know about Shipy's mark (or the others), or why Taran's Talo Tattoo Worm makes Taran want to throttle Shipy whenever he's nearby. This is just one of those loose ends only known by khara_khang, being the GM who ended Oblique Streams, Taran's GM, and Shipy's player.
Just for the record, Ruth does not have such a tattoo on her, unless she plays in another Khang game. I don't want to worry about it or mess with it, except in the case that khara_khang needs it for the sake of one of his games. I consider it an optional thing, just like Kremm for a Wizard.

His attack rolls only ever garnered 2-3 hits, and his armor stopped those. No spite damage rolled as of yet.

Hidden under his shirt.

Maybe they're Talo worms, maybe something else, or maybe they just didn't "take" for anyone but the Orcs, and have died off for the rest of us. Who knows. Anyway, while I don't look at it as optional for MMM (it happened, so I'm going with it), since nobody knows exactly what ours do (other than possibly khara) I see no problem with ignoring it until such time as khara lets the rest of us in on what's what.
The magical marks faded with time from everyone save Jax 'n' Taran, so Ruth's fear of having a taboo tattoo is misplaced. As stated long ago, Talo Tattoo Worms hold memories from previous hosts, so that is where Taran's worm's Hobbit hatred comes from. I hope this helps.

And MMM was sure it was the extra gland he asked for. Bummer.
I hope this helps.
Sure does, thanks! Next question: so what does the magic ring that MMM received do? ;)
