A Metamorphosis Alpha® play-by-post adventure run by ghost_of_warden
[Exterior shot from high above. Zoom down to two robots working together at one of Warden's food packaging stations. Robot #1 (2D2R) looks as if it is wondering whether anything interesting ever happens to robots on Warden. Robot #2 (3CPU) is focused on a package of meat moving by on a conveyer belt and aching for a good mustard-squirting.]
"C'mon 2D2R, it's break time. I need some oil for my systems."
The smaller robot beeps and lets out a high pitched whistle as it leaves the conveyor belt with 3CPU for the Kwik-E-Robot maintenance station for their daily lubrication fix. At the station, they spy the maintenance robot, WD40.
"I wish you'd come to my party, WD40. You could use some merriment."
"Listen 3CPU, serving the customer here at this maintenance station is merriment enough for me." It gives 2D2R and 3CPU a shot of oil and then unhooks them. "Thank you, come again. See? Most enjoyable."
"Oh, I guarantee a wing-ding of titanic proportions. You will be there or kindly be square."
"Well, I donít like to leave the maintenance station unattended." It dusts off a "Back in 5 minutes" sign. "But for the next five minutes, I guess I could party like it's 1999."
<more beeps and whistles>
The three robots quickly head into the robot storage room. WD40 spots a pretty robot and saunters (as much as a maintenance droid can) over to it. "Hello, beautiful. No docking ring, I see. So you want to lock motherboards and share some data?"
"Freakazoid" plays on an ancient music box. The object of WD40's attention balks. "Ooh, ooh, ooh," WD40 continues. "I love this song. Let's boogie." It grabs the other robot and dances the Roboto, all the while singing: "I am a Freak-a-zoid, come on and wind me up."
"Oh, WD40, never have I partied so heartily. Same time next year, no?" It gives WD40 a high-five.
<flashing light, whistle>
[The camera above pans as WD40 runs back to its maintenance station with one minute to spare. It arrives and shakes its head, chiding itself out loud for wasting four minutes of its existence. It wants them back, but reconsiders when it realizes it'd only waste them again. Camera pulls back, fades to black.]
