The party has decided to return to Ashabenford and train to better their skills and maybe even learn some new tricks. Samo wants to report to the halls of learning and discover if some spells he has been working on will actually take form and work! The party arrives in town in mid afternoon and books rooms for the next ten-day week. They then disperse and go their separate ways to train.
Liarrin goes to the temple of Lathander to pray and be trained by the high clerics there. Rentric goes to the shrine dedicated to Kelemvor and finds another fighter there willing to train. Samo goes to the library, his halls of learning, and begins to research his new ideas for spells. There he finds another mage that is willing to instruct him in the arcane ways. Falin goes to the tavern downstairs from his room and gets drunk. I rolled to see if he was getting drunk, and yes he was! After a few hours, Falin is forced to fight his way out of the tavern and then sneak back in and pick the lock to his room. What a way to train!
The
party spends the first three days of the week training before taking a
break for the Midsummer Festival. This festival is held every year
following the month of Summertide and is celebrated with great zeal.
Liarrin takes part in the Song of Dawn ceremonies held in the early morning.
She is there to promote love and birth and partake in the singing of harmonies
that praise the Morninglord.
In other parts of the festival, Rentric stands guard uneasily - worried for the safety of the fellow partyers. Falin goes gambling and Samo earns himself a few silver entertaining a band of teenage half-elves. During the festivities, the party notices three suspicious characters. Liarrin is bedazzled by one of them, noting his rather large arms and impeccable smile. Rentric is not fooled and basically chases them from the festivities. Other than this - the celebrations go off without a hitch and training resumes in the morning. After a further four days, the party is rested, trained and ready to attack the keep again. Falin notes that since they have gone, no raids have taken place - STRANGE!
The party buys supplies and sets off towards Galath's Roost once again. They arrive at the keep in a few hours and store their horses at the camp. They then creep towards the keep's secret entrance they discovered earlier. They peer down the hole and see nothing but darkness. Lighting a sunrod, the party descends.
