The party opens the only other door in the lobby to a large room that is lined wall to wall with books, tomes, and scrolls, but what is more interesting is what is falling gently from the ceiling and covering everything in a blanket six inches thick: snow!!!
As
the last member of the party enters the room, the books seem to come alive
and hurl themselves at the party! Bookcases are hurled at the party
as the books come alive and attack! Making a mad dash for the door
on the far side the party tries despratly to avoid the books and shelves.
Samo begins to burn everything in sight and soon the room is full of smoke.
Flames and smoke fill the air as the heroes try to clear the path to the
doorway. Finally Rentric is able to make it to the room beyond and
grabs the lifeless body of Liarrin on the way to fresh air. Over
come with smoke Samo passes out to join Falin on the floor of the burning
library. Rentric is quick to rescue his falling comrades as he drags
them into what appears to be a dining room.
A dining table surrounded by four chairs with a small kobold sittig atop the table dressed in sorcerer's robes and looking over the shoulder of three burly hobgoblins. "You have entered the presence of Gurlzick the Great! Show me respect and I will show you mercy!" He explains to the party that he has come from the desert and wnats only to be returned their. When the party agrees to this, the hobgoblins vanish - the where oby illusions. He also expalisn that there are spirits that posses mundane objects in the room to the left, just like the books - only knives and pots.
The party must press on and decides thats the only way left as the library is still full of smoke. Upon entering the room, Samo does a triple axel on top of the table, scattering knives and pots as he goes. The knives and pots come to life and fling themselves at the party. Samo, Rentric and the kobold and pepered for a lot of damage. The party needs to open the far door - but its magically locked! Swinging wildly at the mundane kitchen utensils, the situation seems hopeless. Until Giurlzick pulls out a blackened stick and yells "PICK!!" at the top of his lungs and suddenly the room is filled with a great big ball of fire! A wand of fire balls does a massive amount of damage to the party, but at least the spirits are destroyed, as is Gurlzick. Rentric is quite badly burned, Samo has seen his deity up close and personal but somehow manages to survive.
What wil happen next??? What will the party do??? Will they find Sir Timoth??? Will Falin ever hit with his bow??? Will Smao finally come out of the closet??? Stay tuned ...
