The Ranger Revisitied

I have been greatly disappointed in the ranger class as a whole.  There really is no reason to take the class beyond 1st level as you get the weapon and armor proficiencies, two-weapon fighting and a favored enemy.  This is a new version designed by Monte Cook, one of the game designers for third edition.  You can find the major deatils on this page or go to Monte Cook's site and download it there as a pdf file.

Rangers now have the following statistics.
    Alignment: any
    Hit Dice: d8

Class Skills:
The ranger's class skills are as follows; Animal Empathy (Cha, exclusive), Climb (Str), Concentration (Con), Craft (Int), Handle Animal (Cha), Heal (Wis), Hide (Dex), Intuit Direction (Wis), Jump (str), Knowledge (nature) (Int), Listen (Wis), Move Silently (Dex), Profession (Wis), Ride (Dex), Use Rope (Dex), Search (Int), Spot (Wis), Swim (Str), and Wilderness Lore (Wis).  See chapter 6 in the Player's Handbook for skill descriptions.
    Skill Points at 1st Level: (6 + Int modifier) x 4
Skill Points at Each Additional Level: 6 + Int modifer

Class Features
Weapon & Armor: A ranger is proficient with all simple and martial weapons as well as light abd medium armor and shields.
Spells: Beginning at 4th level, a ranger gains the ability to cast a certain amount of diveine, nature or wilderness related spells.  The prime ability for these spells is Wisdom.  The DC for the spells is 10 plus spell level plus Wisdom modifier.
Track: A ranger gains the Track feat as a bonus feat at 1st level.
Bonus Feats: A ranger gets bonus feats at certain times thrughout their careers.  These are in addition to feats regular characters get and the initial human bonus feat.  Bonus feats must be taken from this list: Ambidextarity, Blind-Fight, Combat Reflexes, Dodge, (Mobiliy, Spring Attack), Exotic Weapon Proficiency, Expertise, (Improved Disarm, Improved Trip, Whirlwind Attack), Favored Enemy Critical Strike, Favored Enemy Strike, Mounted Combat, (Mounted Archery, Trample, Ride-By Attack, Spirited Charge), Point Blank Shot, (Far Shot, Precise Shot, Rapid Shot, Shot on the Run), Quick Draw, Two-Weapon Fighting, (Improved Two-Weapon Fighting), Weapon Finesse, Weapon Focus.
Favored Enemies: Rangers gain bonuses equal to their ranger level / 5 to a specific emeny.  This is to Bluff checks, Listen checks, Sense Motive checks, Spot checks and Wilderness Lore checks.  It also gives them a bonus to damage inflicted onto these enemies.
