The Old Mystics are the most rare of all the kats. There are only about a hundred or less left. They are secretive and rarely show themselves. Many kats think them a myth. The Mystics are the most recluse of the kats, and will not interfere with anything the kats are doing. They are wholly good, and although it is against their way, they will fight any Guild member that they find. The Old Mystics are very noble, but will not do anything to help a kat not of their species. They are often arrogant, knowing that they are the strongest in their abilities than any kat. They care for only their own kind, and the only reason they will show themselves is to take away a silver kit from their family.

What an Old Mystic Looks Like

The Mystics are different than most kats. There are two different kinds, the Old Mystics and the New Mystics. Few kats know the difference....even fewer even know that they actually exist. I'll start with the Old Mystics.

The Old Mystics are the oldest species of kat, even though the Forest Kats think they are oldest. They are a little bit bigger than a Forest Kat. Males have long manes that go between the front legs and end at the stomach. Male tail fur also tends to hand down farther, but at the ends, their tails are less poofy. Females look pretty much the same except with thinner tails and longer than usual ear tufts. The Old Mystics are a little larger than Forest Kats, and have a very delicate look about them. They have long legs with thin bodies. Their necks are long and graceful looking, and their heads are longer, with a slightly longer muzzle than usual. Their back legs are longer than their front legs. They have larger eyes, and larger ears, and a thin eye to mouth stripe. Old Mystics can be of any color, but many are silver.

The New Mystics. They are much different from the Old Mystics for the simple fact that the New Mystics are any species of Kat that are born silver. They can be a Cave, Mountain, Sky, Forest, Valley, Beach, Plains, Tundra, Plateau, Marsh, or Desert. New Mystics, when they are born, are within a few years of birth, taken from their parents by the Old Mystics to be reared by them. Only silver kits are taken. The New Mystics are taught the ways of the Old Mystics, and in time, become like them. There are more New Mystics than Old Mystics, but are just as good at hiding as them.

Old and New Mystics in general. Both are rarely seen, and both are unusually strong in their abilities. Old Mystics are stronger in their abilities than the New Mystics. Once trained, they will rarely meet, and none of them live in a certain area.
