A Mountain Kats Personality: Mountain Kats are the most stubborn of all the kats. They are as hard as the rock they live on. It has been said that they can teach a stone to speak and a Plains Kat to love peace. They will almost never give up on what they want to do. Few can make them see reason, and they will refuse to see it if they don't want to. Horrible things can happen, and they will still keep going, never giving up. At a young age they learn how to be extremely stubborn, which makes it difficult on kats who are parents. They often have to take extreme measures to teach a kit not to do something. In fact, when the kits feel themselves ready, and the parents are ready to have the kit go, the kit will leave for a year or more, with no food or anything. They have to fend for themselves, and if they come back alive, they will be considered an adult. Many Mountain Kats love to sculpt the rock they live on, but they refuse to tell why they do this. Mountain Kats are honorable, and just, and will do anything to see a criminal prosecuted and perhaps put to death. Law is one thing they uphold greatly, and if you break their laws well it could mean ouch for you. Many Mountain Kats don't like visitors in their mountains and will drive away any kat that comes near. Often they will use force. Mountain Kats can be standoffish, and seem to enjoy rankling Plains Kats fur, and making them angry. |

What a Mountain Kat Looks Like: Mountain Kats are one of the smaller of the kat species. They generally have a thick coat of fur, and thicker, bushier tail to keep them warm. They have longish legs, the back legs longer than the front so that they can jump onto ledges and rocks. Their feet are also larger, so that they don't sink into the snow and so that they can grab rocks. They have small ears so as to keep in heat, and their jaws are thick, making them seem even more stubborn. Their eyes are normal sized, while their eye to mouth stripe is thicker so as the hold back the glare of the sun off the snow. They tend be darker in color so as to keep in heat so they do not freeze.
