History

Despite the best efforts of the Transformer intelligence community, very little is known about Jonas’s past. First spotted in the Outer Rim planets approximately a year before the Predacon siege of Endport (3 Stellar Cycles ago), the disheveled, yet charismatic speaker gained a reputation for his fiery passionate anti-governmental speeches. Though largely ignored at first, he continued to spread his rhetoric, speaking at length to anyone who would listen. In time, his persistent and well conceived arguments won him a small, but devoted following among the down-and-out of the Rim, who found it appealing to blame their troubles on one government or another.

About this time, after a brief collaboration with the Triage, a Cybertronian political exile, the first shadows of what would become the ‘Conformist’ Movement, began to appear in his soapbox oratory. In addition to offering criticism of the underlying social order, he proposed a radical alternative to what he called the ‘Faction System’: Order through conformity. By eliminating factional distinction, he believed, inter-racial conflicts would become a thing of the past. (See Conformist Movement) Jonas’s following continued to grow at an alarming rate, a fact compounded by the assimilation of Rhommer’s ‘Lightning Corps.’, a misleadingly named collection of criminals and thugs more than happy to use Conformism to justify meaningless violence. When word of his new ideas began to spread inward toward Cybertron, he acquired the services of Metallicron, a brilliant ex-Maximal Army officer who quickly became his chief political tactician.

Through sheer determination and force of personality, Jonas continued to grow his operation and spread its message from the Rim, to Cybertron itself. As the Conformist’s numbers swelled so did the scope of Jonas’s plans. He now believes, that with a little time, and sufficient numbers, he could make Conformation a reality. To this end he has allowed the Lightning Corps. to slip further out of Rhommer’s inept control, hoping to stir up, either by freight or fever, the raw manpower needed to establish the movement as a major player in Rim politics. At the same time, to legitimize the Conformist camp, he has been courting local armed forces through Plutocron, his figurehead of the established military.

Of late, the Lightning Corps has grown wild enough, and Jonas’s dealings through Plutocron successful enough, to warrant minor attention from both the Tripredacus Council and the Maximal Council of Elders.

Personality

The most striking and important thing to know about Jonas’s personality is the extreme charisma crowd stopping charisma he possesses. When Jonas walks into a room he is what’s happening. He knows this very well, and uses it to his advantage. No matter where he is, or what he is doing, he always appears to be cool, confident, and in control of the situation. You can’t help but feel safe in his care. Though tending toward the image of a larger than life enigmatic leader, he can still slough this skin for a more dynamic energy filled one when it suits his purposes. For example, when he is trying to convince someone of something, he becomes very animated; brimming with excitement. This personality switch, when coupled with superb speaking ability and the knack of making a ‘bot feel like the future rests in his or her own hands, makes him persuasively devastating.

Jonas is that kind of person who will set his goals amongst the stars and then move the heavens and the earth in their pursuit. No distance is too far to travel and no price is too high to pay to get what he wants. He gets on well with those he sees as helping him achieve his aims, and deadly dangerous to those that get in his way.

Appearance

Robot Mode: Jonas’s only mode, and an odd one at that. Standing at just over ten feet tall, his body seems to be an amalgamation of all four Transformer factions: Autobot, Decepticon, Maximal, and Predacon. It is an incongruous look, but Jonas makes it work. He is relatively thin, with long flat metal surfaces across his chest and shoulder blades that sport flat beveled edges. His gauntlets, boots, and neck, however, are more rounded off and Maximal in appearance. His face gravitates toward the sharp hard lines of a Predacon, but possessed of a disarmingly Maximal smile. Though not physically imposing, his overall frame imparts a sense of dangerous hidden strength. He carries himself with a powerful confidant air very strongly reminiscent of the ancient Decepticons. Color wise, Jonas is a slate gray color with red so dark in the bevels, that it looks almost black (Very few ‘bots can actually see the red, though. More often than not, the average Transformer sees it as a type of black that strikes them as ‘not quite right‘.). Jonas’s deep blue optics seem at odds with his trim, thus making it a tiny bit offsetting to see him in person for the first time.

Quotes

“Our differences bind us and keep us. They breed jealousy and conflict. They lead us into war and ruin, now as much as they ever have. Differences can be…dangerous things. In so many ways like some malignant cancer. We must cut them out, therefore, and become cleansed in the process,” -Jonas.
