Alright, we have been playing shows like crazy and trying to work our way out of debt. Now we are finally there. In recent events we are recording a new song and music video for said song. this should all be out by the end of January. We have also designed some merch that will be out hopefully by January as well. If you have ideas you can e mail them to us at thedead519@hotmail.com any comments or suggestions will be considered.

Also, thanks to everyone that came out to support the Sean Abel Music Foundation benifit show. We raised over $1500 that will all go to said charity. The show was amazing and a big thanks goes out to the bands that gave the time to play, and Eedy for putting on the show.

Ok work has started up on the site again we will have all the link colors matching soon and we now have an MP3 to upload. Check out our reviews (bottom of this page) and we have some new shows posted. The set up has changed slightly, instead of a menu page we have posted a nav bar at the top of the page. i've temporarilly taken down the forum and guest book they will return soon so don't fret. Until then you can contact us via e-mail - thedead519@hotmail.com or myspace - Restless are the Dead Also we have changed our name due to legal issues to "Restless Are The Dead" the line up and songs are still the same we just mutually decided that changing our name now was better than facing the legal issues later.

Restless are the Dead (London, ON) took the stage and everyone was pretty excited for them since their last show in Sarnia was so badass. I can't say really whether it was better or worse than the first time, but I really enjoyed it and I want them to keep coming back because it was fun.

The Dead played next, and despite the crowd size actually served it's purpose to a lone mosher, which is absolutely comendable. I think that for as hard as they tried that night, The Dead were more than the soft indie rockers could bare. The band puts on a show, regardless of who it is for, and they did for us that night. Bassist Ken even took his instrument to the eye and suffered some really cool bleeding. Parky and Darcy are really fast players, they put a lot of sound out between the two of them, dualing guitarist performing intricate riff and trick work. Drummer Matt fills out every millisecond of space with the mastery of his drum kit, carries the band a long with solid and furious playing. All of this tight instrumentation is topped off by Chris Lawn's scratchy vocals and energetic performance.

...The Dead from London, ON, were the first of the out-of-town bands to play for the evening. I hadn't heard them but was quickly blown away. The guitarists and singer set up on the floor while the drums were set forward on the stage. It really brought everything together because while the audience went off, so too did the band. And did the audience ever go off! The Dead played some badass metal-influenced hardcore with some fast parts with crazy riffage, interspersed throughout crazy breakdowns, usually with weird timing. Everyone rocked out wildly despite the weird timing. I can't wait for them to come back again. ...

...The real show for me was The Dead.
The Dead breathed the much needed revilatising breath of air into my lungs. After seeing so much bullshit scream-o alexisonfilth music being played in and out of town, The Dead were the crucial sparks that lit the fire of the night. The 5 piece band comprised of a mad man on double kick, 2 very intricate and speedy guitar lickers, and solid bass back, and a live wire. Playing for only 3 weeks, their frontman gave an impressively energetic performance that excited me, and gives me goosebumps now. The strange timed sequences, tight breaks and comprehension of the moment between the musicians gave the impression of a band that has been practising for years, while The Dead have really only been together for barely 8 monthes. The band was greatful to play, and a pleasure to work with. Two thumbs was up for The Dead. On the road they are taking, they are sure to go far beyond that of most generic sounding metal, go see play before they are stolen from the city by better offers. ...
