The Minor Pentatonic is a five note scale. Most scales have seven notes, just to let you know.
The Pentatonic is used widely in blues and rock music and it is a very simple scale, great for a guitar beginner to learn.
Most of the time Pentatonic Scales are played with two notes per string, which means you alternate pick them.
Alternate picking is where you play the first note as an downstroke (towards the floor)
the second note as a upstroke (towards the ceiling) the third note as an downstroke, fouth upstroke,
and so on. Do not play the entire thing as up or downstrokes! It will SIGNIFICANTLY decrease your speed!
