well it would seem that the NEC is the most popular at the mo, and its the one I know least about :-( well at least Tony should be able to provide me with updates as and when he get more information

any way onto the other stuff I promised - firstly pubs

Glasgow

The best (only) pub for us rockers is the Solid Rock Cafe located just outside Central Station, tho this can get very noisy in the evening i.e. the music is played so loud you can't hear what someone shouts into your ear! There are plenty of other bars I can recommend but they are generally of the 'old man' type and a bit harder to get to.
To get to the solid from:

Central station: walking away from the platforms head to the exit on the left side of the building and the turn left as you hit the street, the Solid is located on the right side of this road, it is right at the bottom of this street, and can clearly be seen as it has a bright Purple exterior.

Queen Street Station: Come out of the station's George Square Exit (the one straight on from the platforms) - if ya miss it and come out of a side exits don't worry, walk the few yards down the hill (you can tell easily which way is down - its a noticeable climb) - walk across the square (the big red tarmac thingy) to the opposite corner (there's a Gregg's bakery on this corner) carry on down the street (Queens Street) to the end, and follow the road round to the right and keep walking, up ahead you should see a bridge across the road with Central Station written on it, walk towards and under the bridge. at the end of the tunnel (what do u call the bit under the bridge?) take the first right (so you'll be walking up the side of the station, with it on your right) and the Solid is on the left, a couple of shop fronts up from this junction.

if you want, I will be back living in Glasgow by November, so I can always meet you off the train and guide you there myself, :-)

the SECC is around 5 10 mins walk from here along the water front - out of the solid, turn left, cross the road (keeping the train tracks to your left) keep walking this way till you reach the Clyde (the big wet thing that flows in from the left) turn right here and keep on going along (I think this is Clyde Street) and eventually the SECC will be in your way - enjoy the gig.

After the gig the only rock club that opens on a Thursday is The Cathouse which is about £2 - £3 entry and has drink promos and special offers on as Thursday is student night (students bring your cards and get cheaper entry)

ill get a map of the Glasgow center scanned in and the relevant places marked up

Manchester

ok the MEN arena is located at Victoria Station, if your coming in at Piccadilly, get on the Metro link towards Bury and get off at Victoria Station - ooo that was simple, the same goes for anywhere you come across the Metro link in Manchester's Centre - follow the tracks towards Bury and it will lead you to Victoria (the last stop before it becomes a train and leaves the Centre.

sorry but I haven't been out in Manchester drinking so I really cant say at this point where's a good place to meet, so ill ask my mates if they know of anywhere decent, and ill get back to you, if you know of somewhere, don't hesitate to email me :-)

Birmingham

the only place I know in Birmingham is Xtreme under the Bull Ring (I think, my sis took me there about 5 years ago) and ScaryClary tells me of a place called XL's but that's about all I know of Birmingham, anybody who can provide the answers.... you know the rest

Hedonist suggested that we could meet at the Airport Its in the same place as the NEC plus there's bound to be a few bars there - won't be cheap but hey its Birmingham!!!

hopefully not as expensive as a pint in London

Just a quick update for directions to the NEC...
I don't know if this is true for all Manchester - to The South trains, but I know that the Manchester - Bournemouth passes through both Birmingham New street and Birmingham international station, the international station is for the NEC and Birmingham airport.

and ill catch ya on tour

in a pub somewhere probably

up the BB irons

ps. as soon as I know what hotels the FC trippers are staying in ill post directions, tho I believe the coaches will take people to and from gigs

send any info on meets to maiden-man@maidenbb.co.uk

EDDIES GONNA GET YOU, NO MATTER HOW FARRRRRRRR........
