Don't stress too much about etiquette. After all, you're here to relax, right? If you remember the rules your mother taught you, you should be fine.

The Rules for Guests:
  • Flirting is allowed (encouraged, even), but no gross comments.
  • Teasing is fun, but don't get mean.
  • Acknowledge newcomers.
  • Greet everyone as you enter, and say goodbye as you leave.
  • No name calling, but nice nicknames are welcome.
  • People are encouraged to show off their skills in recitation, as long as it's not too long a piece.
  • Pay attention when a customer or geisha reads a poem.
  • If someone's being mean, then don't be mean back, they already look bad.
The Rules for Geisha:
  • Follow the rules of the guests, plus...
  • Bow and greet newcomers.
  • Compliment your guests.
  • If someone has been flirting with you, don't ignore them.
  • Do your best to keep up a lively and interesting repartee.
  • Don't flirt too much when your danna or boifurendo is around.
  • If someone is upset, do your best to comfort them.
  • Be a sympathetic listener.
