Some members don’t have Internet access or some want to receive files in WORD format files as attachment. If we start sending files as attachment, it will block INBOX of many members. Size of files sent in a month is normally 9.00 MB to 10 MB per month (weekly 1.29 MB to 1.43 MB average). When some members INBOX block due to maximum utilization capacity, member (i) cannot received their other mails (ii) members cannot receive their mails from the group also because members status changes from Active Members to Bouncing Members upon bouncing / return of mail.

It is not possible for us to send job alerts according different categories because ( i ) we don’t have such system at the moment (ii ) we are doing all this service after our office work / jobs. Yahoo! Groups organizes bounces into two types: hard bounce and soft bounce.

Hard Bounce
We consider your account to be "hard bouncing" if the error message we get back from your email provider says either of the following:

In this case, your Yahoo! Groups account will be deactivated and set to "Bouncing." You will not receive any group email until your account is reactivated.

Soft Bounce

It might be right if members of this group belongs to only one country and we send job advertisements only from same country. As you know we are re-producing the advertisements from news papers of Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and UAE to cover the job advertisements from all over the gulf. Members for this group are not from Gulf Only, but also from India, Pakistan, Iran, B.Desh, UK, USA, Canada, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, New Zealand etc.

We started Sending mails thru Yahoo group (jobs_gulf_info) from May 08, 2003 with 84 members.

We had 6949 Active Members + 1288 Bouncing Members = 8237 Total Members on 30.06.2005 . There are lot of groups working for 4 or 5 years don’t reach to four figures. We searched Yahoo group in March 2004 , 4900+ yahoo groups are operating in jobs & career category and found that our Yahoo group is the largest group in Jobs & Career Category in Yahoo groups based in Gulf. (Note: biggest job & Career group was found “Chetana-jobs” with 61000 + members based in India)

Another Yahoo Group (jobsgulfinfo) was established on Feb 03, 2004 thru which we are sending all our mail in word format (without any web link) for those members who don’t have Internet access from their address & /or want to get these files in word format (without any web link) and had Active Members 889 + 135 Inactive Members = Total 1024 Members as of 30.06.2005

Thus our total members are 9261 as of 30.06.2005
