egoc's 3rd annual mock drafts
egoc's Personal Draft
#1.Houston- QB David Carr, Fresno St.
Texans have made no secret of this pick and a lot would have to happen to alter it.
#2. New Orleans (trade #13 & #25)- DE Julius Peppers, North Carolina
Saints make a big move to replace a big player, Joe Johnson. The Panthers ain't done dealin'.
#3. Detroit- S Roy Williams, Oklahoma
Lions draft a guy who can actually cover an NFL WR.
#4. Buffalo- QB, Joey Harrington, Oregon
Bills would rather trade down and "settle" for a second round QB, but are asking too much.
#5. San Diego- T Bryant McKinnie, Miami
Chargers are thrilled that to get a legit offensive lineman.
#6 Dallas- CB Quentin Jammer, Texas
Cowboys fill their biggest need with a Longhorn... cover all the bases
#7. Carolina (trade #13 and #34)- Phillip Buchannon, CB, Miami
The Panthers fill their biggest need with a can't miss CB
#8 Kansas City- DT John Henderson, Tennessee
The Chiefs' braintrust think Christmas has come early to western Missouri when the best DT in the draft falls this far.
#9 Jacksonville- DE Kalimba Edwards, South Carolina
The Jaguars must think long and hard about trading down or drafting Mike Williams to replace Boselli, but in the end take the best player available at their biggest need.
#10..Cincinnati- S Edward Reed, Miami
Bengals draft a guy who is as likely to pick a ball as defend it.
#11..Indianapolis-DT Wendell Bryant..Wisconsin
Dungy gets himself an anchor who can get into the backfield better than anybody in the draft, bar none.
#12 Arizona- DT Ryan Sims, Tennessee
Cardinals draft best DL on the board.
#13. Minnesota- (via New Orleans and Carolina)-WR Josh Reed, LSU
With Carter gone, Vikes need a possession receiver and Reed grabs everything in sight and will go anywhere on the field to do it.
#14.Tennessee- WR Donte Stallworth, Tennessee
Titans would love a legit safety, but can get a second tier DB in the second round... they can't resist this Volunteer
#15. NY Giants- T Mike Williams, Texas
Giants must fill Lomas Browns shoes and roll the dice with Williams hoping that he's healthy.
#16. Cleveland- RB T.J.Duckett, Michigan St.
Duckett's size and speed are irresistable to a team that's never had a legit RB.
#17 Atlanta- WR Ashley Lelie, Hawaii
The Falcons RB problems are solved, and WR is a need. Niether Finneran nor Sanders are worthy of Vick's arm... Lelie could tear their Offense wide open.
#18 Washington- WR Jabar Gaffney, Florida
Spurrier is in for a penny, in for a pound with his faith in the Gator O.
#19 Denver- TE Jeremy Shockey, Miami
With Rob Moore on board, the Broncos can turn their attention to TE where Carswell and Clark don't cut it for a team that won two SB's with a stud TE.
#20 Seattle- TE Daniel Graham, Colorodo
The TE run is on... Coach Mike would rather have had Shockey, but will "settle" for Graham who's a better blocker.
#21. Oakland- DT Albert Haynesworth, Tennessee
Raiders draft Jackson's replacement.
#22 NY Jets- T Levi Jones, Arizona St.
Jets lost two OL (Jenkins and Young) and Jones can play T or G.
#23 Oakland- OLB Napoleon Harris, Northewestern
In spite of picking up Romanowski, the Raiders are compelled to hedge their bet.
#24 Baltimore- DE Dwight Freeney, Syracuse
Ravens have a lot of holes to fill, and might use Freeney to replace Sharper. Even if he can't cut it at LB, he's certainly better than Burnett at DE.
#25 Carolina (from New Orleans)- DE Charles Grant, Georgia
Fairly productive as a Jr (could've used another year seasoning) and has looked great in workouts.
#26 Phildelphia- RB, William Green, Boston College
Green is what Reid has been looking for all along... Staley and Burkhalter combined
#27 San Francisco- WR Marquise Walker, Michigan
Mooch will be happy to let Walker and Stokes fight it out for the #2 spot and "settle" for the loser at #3. Streets is the odd man out.
#28 Green Bay- WR Antonio Bryant, Pittsburgh
Don't be fooled by the "We're not looking at receiver's" smoke the Packers are blowing. If Bryant is there, it's a done deal.
#29 Chicago- T Mike Pearson, Florida
Bears can afford to draft depth and Big Cat is nearing the end of his run.
#30 Pittsburgh- DE Bryan Thomas, Alabama-Birmingham
Steelers need a sack threat on the other end of the line from Aaron Smith... von Oelhoffen ain't gettin' it done.
#31 St. Louis- G Toniu Fonoti, Nebraska
Mike Martz knows which side of the bread is buttered and that four of his five O lineman are free agents next year.
#32 New England- DL Anthony Weaver, Notre Dame
May be "too big" to play DE for the Pat's, but is versatile enough to play inside.
